Please can we remind you that Friday 23rd October is a PD Day and school is closed to children on this date.  We will therefore finish on Thursday 22nd October and return, after half term, on Monday 2nd November.

NJS are determined that, even if we have to do it ‘differently’, our children will not miss out on our usual whole school celebrations this academic year. This is testament to the ethos of our amazing school and the hard work and commitment of our wonderful staff.

On Wednesday 21st October you will be emailed, through ParentMail, a link to a video of our whole school Harvest Assembly.  You will be able to watch this at a time convenient to you.  Why not make it special and enjoy it as a household with a cup of tea and a biscuit! (Children will only feature if we have consent to use their image online.)

On this date we would be delighted if children would like to bring a donation into school for Newport Foodbank.  Families within our local community are in need of our support at this time and, if you are able, donations will be very gratefully received.  Newport Foodbank really need tinned meat, tinned fruit, coffee, tinned vegetables, UHT milk, tinned puddings as a priority.  Trolleys for donations to be placed into will be located by each of the entrance gates on that morning.

Parents and Carers Meeting letter

Please find attached a letter for your attention with details of the arrangements for this term.  A paper copy will also be sent home.

Thank you for your support and to the staff for their commitment to these ‘new ways of working’.

We will be holding our annual Harvest Festival on Wednesday 21st October.

We would be very grateful for donations, on this date, for Newport Foodbank.  We would be very proud to support our local community with donations.  The Foodbank are most in need of: tinned meat, tinned fruit, coffee, tinned vegetables, UHT milk and tinned puddings.  They have plenty of tinned beans and soup!  Please can donations be ‘in date’ otherwise sadly the Foodbank have to throw them away.  Trolleys will be positioned by both gates on the morning of the 21st for donations to be placed into.

On this date we will have the ‘premiere’ of our Harvest Service.  Over the next couple of weeks classes will rehearse and perform a contribution to our service.  These will be collated into a video on our school You Tube channel for families to enjoy at home.  PLEASE NOTE: if you have not consented to your child’s photo being used online then they will not appear on the video of this performance.  If you wish to amend your permission please email lynne.stanley@taw.org.uk
