As Swimming Galas at Newport town pool have begun, it has been brought to our attention that some of our spectators are arriving at the pool very early. We are fully aware of the excitement and enjoyment that both yourselves and the children get from the galas, however the early arrival of some spectators does concern the Newport pool staff. For spectators who do not realise, the town pool hold school sessions throughout the school day for other local schools, who do not have the privilege of having their own pool, like us. Therefore the session before our galas is a PE/Swimming lesson with no spectators. The issue with early arrivals and entry to the pool is a safeguarding issue for the other school and we cannot access the pool area until 2pm.
Therefore we ask that if you do arrive early for the swimming galas, you wait patiently outside in an orderly queue, allowing other children and the paying public to access the swimming pool and gym area.
We would also like to remind you that the use of photography and recording are prohibited during these sessions.
We look forward to your continuing support at future galas.

Apologies from our website provider as the link to the ‘classes’ page has been missing from mobile devices, this has now been rectified.
Remember it is possible to save the website to your home screen on your mobile device for easy access. Please see the attached poster for how to do this: NJS_phone_shortcut_poster
On the ‘Parents Area’ and ‘Classes’ pages you can view all the latest messages. We try to file whole school messages in the ‘Parents Area’ and year group specific information goes into ‘Classes’ (including homework messages). Any probs let us know!
We have had a request from one of our neighbours to ask parents and carers to please be considerate when parking to drop off and collect children from school. Please don’t block driveways or leave engines running.
We would appreciate parents and carers using local car parks for the school drop off and pick up; this eases traffic on Avenue Road and makes it safer for our children.
Thank you for your support.
Reminder to Year 6 parents that all children MUST be in school the week beginning the 13th May. Ideally ALL children will attend breakfast club to enable them to prepare successfully for the assessments. Please inform your class teacher if you are unable to attend.
Any issues with Year 6 attendance please contact the school office, speaking directly with Mrs Moody, Miss Sherry, Mr Jones or Mrs Kerr by 8.30am.
