6J Daily Maths Challenge

Here is a shot of the daily maths challenge attempted in 6J today!

We have done a couple of these recently, and after finding them challenging last week, 6J have really started to get to grips with the Consecutive Number Challenge.

We found that the best strategy is the look for the box which has the least number of possibilities. E.g. there are 10 even numbers between 0 and 20, but only 2 cubed number.

We would love for you to have a go at these alongside your children.

Yr 6 Weekly Reminders

Tuesday – all children to have swimming kits in school. Kits, towel, swimming cap and goggles (if necessary)

Wednesday – Homework due in – including information file on our Science topic of LIGHT.

Thursday – all children to have PE kit in school, including trainers.

Friday – all children invited to wear Jeans 4 Genes for a voluntary £1 donation.

We are also asking all children to read regularly at home to an adult and to have their reading diary signed. We appreciate any effort that can be made to support with reading at home. If you would like any information on how you can best help with reading at home, please speak to a member of the Yr 6 team who will be able to help out.

Revolting Rhymes

Class 6B have had a lot of fun today celebrating Roald Dahl day! We heard some of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and created some of our own, during our English lesson. We then performed our rhymes to the class.
Mr Rotherham kindly set up a Roald Dahl character treasure hunt in the playground, where we tried to find twelve Roald Dahl characters.
