Class 3B enjoyed a fabulous day at the Base, with Mrs Yates, Mrs Dunscombe and Mr Leonard, taking part in parachute games, Egyptian bread-making, Egyptian Shadufs, painting hieroglyphs, Egyptian drama and the usual forest fun activities, foraging, den-building and making bird feeders!
To make sure they are noticeable around school, the NJS Guardians of Safety have new lanyards! They are turquoise and yellow and will be worn at playtimes, so anyone at school can recognise them and go to them for help, advice or support.
Please find below details and information of our upcoming residential visit to Edgmond Hall.
All the details and information have been shared with parents who attended the meeting after school tonight, however you can download/print the same copies attached.
If you have any further questions then please email me directly on ben.moody@taw.org.uk and I will answer what I can.
The trip will be active on your ParentPay account from 10am on Friday 27th January.
Please ensure you send the relevant completed forms back into school by Friday 17th February so we can make Edgmond Hall aware of any medical or dietary needs.
Your class has been entered into a Battle of the Bands against the other Year 3 classes, so in about one week, we will see which class has scored the most correct answers and won the tournament!
Parents – please allow your children to take part in their DAILY TTRS practice (especially THIS week!), to allow them to contribute towards their class’s total score. Every correct answer will contribute towards their total score.
Following all our work on anti-bullying week last term, our NJS Guardians of Safety have been working really hard to promote information about bullying.
We have created some videos explaining what bullying is, and showing some examples of things that could happen which either are or are NOT bullying.
NJS takes any accusations of bullying very seriously, but it is important that we know the difference between fall-outs, unkind behaviour, and bullying. Bullying is when someone is targeted repeatedly.
Whether it is classed as bullying or not, at NJS we follow our behaviour policy for victims and perpetrators and ensure that they are both supported in the necessary way. This usually means events are recorded on our school system, appropriate staff are made aware, parents/carers notified and sanctions are given where appropriate (such as loss of playtime).
I would like to remind you of the opportunity to join us in a celebration of our recent learning.
3L have been working hard on creating a class assembly to share what we have been doing class with the whole NJS family on Thursday (19th) (Tomorrow)
Parents/carers are welcome to join us for an assembly in the school hall which will start at 14.30 . We are conscious of timing to ensure collection from the infant school is not interrupted so we will be starting promptly.
Well done & congratulations to all of our art club members who contributed towards creating the Christmas window display at Henshall’s Insurance. We were the overall winners of the Newport Christmas Window competition. We are all super proud of you 😀
Year 3 are so excited to be sharing their Christmas performance with you tomorrow!
The children will be sent home from school tomorrow WITHtheir costumes. Please can children return to school from 5:30 through the green security gate to enter school through the electric gates next to 3P IN THEIR COSTUMES. The children SHOULD COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR COSTUMES ready to perform. Children will then leave their coats in their classrooms ahead of the performance which starts at 6pm.
