Please remember 3P are at Beech’s Base tomorrow….
Please wear your old clothes! We are aware the temperatures are warm at the moment: if you want to send your child in shorts and t shirt this is fine.
However please also send in a bag their wellies, long trousers and long sleeved top so that they can pop these on if required for certain activities.
To reassure you it is cooler under the trees: we all want to be down there at the moment!
Look forward to a lovely day in Beech’s Base with 3P.
Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all ok. Next week the following classes will be attending Beech’s Base:
Monday 11th July: 6B
Wednesday 13th July: 3P
We are going to trial the whole class going for the Morning and Afternoon sessions as the weather is warmer 🙂
Children can arrive in their clothing for outdoor learning and clean footwear (trainers):
Children will need to bring in a separate named carrier bag:
If you have any questions please email me: jeni.kuczynska@taw.org.uk
Many thanks
Mrs Kuczynska
We All Have the Right to be Safe
We believe that everyone deserves a home and has the right to seek safety for themselves and their families.
Children at NJS will be marking this festival by watching some short films about young people who have taken refuge in Britain and the journey they went on to get here, completing some ‘healing’ activities together and by doing some art work inspired by the illustration below.
The illustration marking Refugee Week 2022 is by Nima Javan, a painter specialising in traditional Persian art and contemporary abstract art. Nima’s current work is inspired by ‘Persian miniatures’, using characters found in traditional paintings as well as his own creations. Originally from Quchan in North East Iran, Nima sought refuge in the UK in 2019.
All children that have received a Head Teacher’s Award this week and the last few weeks, are invited to have their lunch at Beech’s Base on TUESDAY next week.
See you there.
Thanks
Mrs Bold and Mrs Yates
SEND coffee afternoon is on tomorrow (9th June) at 2.30pm in the school hall.
We look forward to seeing you then.
Dear parents and carers,
Swimming
Year 3 will be swimming on the first Tuesday of next term (the first day back!). Please ensure your child has their swimming kit. Thank you.
PE kits will also need bringing in/taking home at the start/ end of each week, especially as sports days are approaching.
Spellings
Due to timetabling issues, we did not get around to testing children on their half-termly spelling sets this week. Therefore, this will happen during the first week of the new term.
Lost cardigan
Please be on the lookout for a cardigan with Phoebe’s name in it. It is lost. If found, kindly return it to 3P.
We wish you all a restful half term break.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Year 3 Team
Well done to Dexter and Alexander in 3B, who produced these fabulous Newportopoly boards in response to a homework task about Newport. The level of detail is stunning – the boys even went a took photos around town for their boards! Great work.
Well done to all of our children who participate in art club & I would also like to thank Miss Jenkins, Miss Branton, Miss Crompton & Mrs Wood who have all worked exceptionally hard to produce the most fabulous stage backdrop for our Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Best wishes Mrs Jukes 😁
Dear Parents and Carers,
Children in Year 3 will be making collages of cityscapes, skylines, and buildings as part of their Art curriculum, this week.
Collage combines various pieces of paper, magazines, sometimes materials, card etc, to make a new picture of something else.
Therefore, please could children in Year 3 bring in some materials to make the collages? We do have materials and resources to use in school, but would be really great if they could bring in any old magazines, papers, etc that you have in the recycling bin!
Thank you for your continuing support.
The Year 3 team
