COVID Update

Just a quick note to let you know that there has been a positive COVID-19 case within Year 3.

You do not have to do anything, and your child will not have to self-isolate and can come in to school as normal, but you may be contacted by Test & Trace if your child is identified as a close contact. If they are, the advice you will be given on behalf of your child is as follows:

“Even if you do not have symptoms, you will be advised to have a PCR test as soon as possible. Children aged 4 and under will not be advised to take a test unless the positive case was someone in their own household.

You should not arrange to have a PCR test if you have previously received a positive PCR test result in the last 90 days, unless you develop any new symptoms of COVID-19, as it is possible for PCR tests to remain positive for some time after COVID-19 infection.

Even if you are vaccinated, you can still be infected with COVID-19 and pass it on to others. If you are identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 but you are not required to self-isolate, you can help protect others by following the guidance on how to stay safe and help prevent the spread. As well as getting a PCR test, you may also consider:

  • limiting close contact with people outside your household, especially in enclosed spaces
  • wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces and where you are unable to maintain social distancing
  • limiting contact with anyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable
  • taking part in twice weekly LFD testing

This advice applies until 10 full days after your most recent contact with the person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

If you develop symptoms at any time, even if these are mild, self-isolate immediately, arrange to have a COVID-19 PCR test and follow the guidance for people with COVID-19 symptoms.”

You may wish to follow this advice in any case, but we would certainly ask that you are vigilant for symptoms and if your child does develop symptoms, keep them off school and get them PCR tested using the following link: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Take care

Reminder – Year 3 HT awards at Beech’s Base tomorrow lunchtime

Dear parents,

This is a reminder for Year 3 children ONLY, who won the Headteacher’s Award last week AND the week before, to bring their wellies, a packed lunch and change of clothes TOMORROW for lunchtime. They will eat lunch around the campfire, and toast marshmallows.

Apologies that this message may not have gone out in Class 3B. Please pass this on if you are aware of parents in 3B who may need to know this.

Kind regards,

Mr Butler

Beech’s Base – Head Teacher’s Award Children

Good Afternoon

Congratulations to the children who received a Head Teacher’s Award yesterday. These children are invited to Beech’s Base on Monday lunchtime, they can arrive in school uniform as time will be given to change. Hopefully you received your invite outlining what you need to bring but here is a brief reminder:

  • Wellies/Outdoor Footwear
  • Old clothing (Even though the forecast is looking warm children need to wear trousers and long sleeved tops to ensure they have a layer of protection from brambles and nettles)
  • Packed Lunch
  • Your invite
  • Optional waterproof trousers or all in one for water fun.

Children will change after their session, this can be into another pair of old clothes and footwear rather than uniform to save it getting muddy!

If you have any questions please email me: jeni.kuczynska@taw.org.uk

Many thanks

Mrs Kuczynska

Year 3 Update

Year 3 Parents and Carers,

I am emailing to advise you that a Year 3 pupil has tested positive for COVID.

It is the role of Track and Trace to identify and communicate with contacts rather than the school.

If you are contacted by Track and Trace you will be advised to take your child for a PCR test. In this situation, unless symptomatic, your child can attend for school whilst they await a result.

Please can you all be vigilant for symptoms in your children and if they become unwell book a test and advise the office on 01952 386600 that your child will remain at home whilst they await a result.

Thank you all for your support.

Best wishes

Mrs Moody
