Following on from Shropshire Cricket Coach Ryan Lockley coming into school on a Friday for Y3 and Y5. There is a follow-up FREE 2 day cricket camp at Harpers CC in Edgmond in August hosted by Ryan and other SCB coaches for all children ages 4-12. This is a great opportunity for your child to further enjoy cricket, make some new friends and learn some new skills along the way. The link in the poster will take you to the sign up page.

In preparation for an assembly the Guardians of Safety will be hosting on Monday (26.06.23), we are asking for your help! Transition day for some children is a worrying time and the Guardians decided something that would help would be knowing a little about the teacher before hand. With this in mind, we asked all the teachers for 3 facts about them! In assembly, the GOS will be asking the children who they think said what!
In the assembly, the GOS will be sharing some tips on how to manage change and think positively! We hope that this helps children as we prepare for transition day on Wednesday 28th June.
Have a look as a family and see if you can figure out which facts belong to which teacher… all will be revealed on Monday!
With the help of the multi cultural service from Telford and Wrekin, year 5 all took part in a new sport this week. With the help of Mr Islam, from the Manchester Raiders Kabaddi Club, the children all learnt a tag version of the very popular game Kabaddi.
5M really enjoyed starting to make their DT design bird boxes a reality this week. They got to use the hammers, nails, drills, saws, wood, glue etc to start to build their own versions of bird boxes. And it couldn’t have been completed in a cooler place, Beech’s Base (bonus time!) Keep you eyes peeled around our school site for the finished boxes!!
This is a message for the children who went to Arthog in March and had to return a day early due to the weather conditions….
Arthog have worked with us to arrange an outreach session at NJS for the children who had a disrupted visit to the Arthog Centre in Wales.
On Friday 23rd June those children will spend the morning, at NJS, with members of the Arthog team. The climbing tower will be on site and a range of team building activities similar to those that would have taken place on the Friday morning.
This group of children should come to school that morning in old clothes with their trainers.

This morning, children in 5N have been using a range of different tools (saws, hammers and drills) with Mrs Jones in order to prepare their pieces of wood, ready to put together their bird boxes. Mrs Jones has commented on how wonderfully mature and responsible the children have behaved this morning… maybe a class star is on the way?!! I can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
