Torches for 6B
Could I please ask that if any children in class 6B have a torch, that they bring it into school (preferably named) on Monday 16th October. We need some torches to do a light experiment in our science lesson.
Thanks!
NJS at the Cross Country event at the Deer Park
Congratulations to all the children who took part in the cross country event at the Deer Park. The children were exceptional. Congratulations everyone!
World Mental Health Day!
As today is World Mental Health Day… I thought I would share something created by ITV. ITV are trying to spread the idea of ‘Get Britain Talking’ due to the benefits this can have on our mental health.
Myself and the Guardians of Safety shared an assembly with the children yesterday! We discussed the theme for this year and ways we can help our mental health.
The task (please see below) is about opening up to difficult conversations at home. Sometimes we can be overwhelmed with our emotions and talking about them can really help.
Have a go at the task designed by ITV…

6K PE kits
6K will need to bring their PE kits in on Monday.
6B Poetry
As today is National Poetry Day, class 6B were inspired by the ‘Refuge’ poem and tried to write our own. We are reading the text ‘Letters From The Lighthouse’, and this looks at WW2 refugees. We talked about how similar refugees and evacuees are and felt inspired to write our own poetry. All of the poems were amazing and some people even managed to write them making sense backwards! Take a look at some examples.
Military Kids Club
Good Afternoon,
Military Kids Club will be taking place in 4N (in the Victorian Block) from 3:15pm tomorrow (6th October). It is open to all children whose parents/carers are currently serving in the Armed Forces or who are Service Veterans.
The aim of the club is to provide wellbeing support and nurture, along with completing fun activities as a group of children who have something in common. Some of the activities we have done previously include, learning the phonetic alphabet, visiting Beech’s Base, Remembrance Day/Armed Forces Day activities and playing games!
I hope to see you tomorrow 🙂
