Thank you Newport Girls’ High
Year 6 staff and children thoroughly enjoyed a performance of Six at Newport Girls’ High yesterday. The production linked perfectly to recent curriculum work on The Tudors.
The performance itself was exceptional and it was wonderful to see former pupils in the cast.
Thank you to Newport Girls’ High for the opportunity.

Newport Big Sing
We are very proud of the NJS choir who performed at Newport Big Sing on Wednesday evening. Their energy and enthusiasm for music was a joy.
Thank you to Mrs Green for leading the choir, to Burton Borough School for hosting and to families who supported this event. It was a wonderful community event bringing schools together through music.

Air Ambulance
Never in my nearly twenty years at NJS and now twice in two terms we have been used as a landing spot for the Air Ambulance responding to an incident in our town.
We of course feel proud to be able to support the emergency services.
I an exceptionally proud of the teamwork of the staff to promptly evacuate the field and playground for the air ambulance to land. The children were exceptional in following our instructions.
Thank you to staff who redirected parents for collection from clubs and to families for being understanding of our instructions.
The Air Ambulance crew were really impressed with NJS and once they knew they weren’t lifting a casualty they allowed the children to view the helicopter.
Thank you all.
