SEND

The ethos and organisation of the school is such that all children are valued and we strive to meet the needs of each child by planning work which meets their needs within the class base. A system of referral, recommended by the Local Authority (LA), is in operation within the school, with the aim of efficiently tackling individual situations, utilising the expertise of the whole teaching staff. The Internal Referral System caters for special needs both where difficulties occur and where children are of a high ability. The agencies involved include Parents, Staff and the Local Authority Support Services. The school employs a large group of trained Support Assistants who help to carry out day to day teaching tasks working closely with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Co-ordinator and the class teacher.
Pupils are reviewed termly and parents are kept informed about their progress and any support that is provided by the school.

Mrs Kerr is our SENDCO and can be contacted on 01952 386600 or jane.kerr1@taw.org.uk
