Green Day: Monday 13th July

We would really appreciate your plant donations to be brought into school on or before the 13th July.  We hope to form a beautiful garden in memory of Mrs Green and very much appreciate the support of our community.

Sponsor forms have also been sent home for children to seek sponsorship from friends and family to support Macmillan Cancer Relief and further development of our garden.

PTA Summer Raffle!

Dinner Arrears

Please can we ask families to log onto ParentPay and clear their dinner arrears.

It is important this is cleared before the Summer break.

Pre Loved Uniform

Simply register using the weblink above.  If you see an item you would like please ‘send a message’ stating your child’s full name and class.  The school office will then send this item home with your child on the next school day.  Easy!

We hope this helps families to access pre loved uniform with ease.

Please remember throughout the year we appreciate donations of pre loved uniform to NJS: please bring it to the school office (green jumpers, logo polo shirts, grey items, fleeces… all appreciated!)

Mrs Green Day: Monday

Monday is a very special day for our school family where we will be enjoying together a range of activities Mrs Green loved so much.  Sunday is Mrs Green’s birthday hence our decision to have ‘Green Day’ on Monday.

This will become a biannual celebratory day alternated with NJSFest.

Activities on Monday will include: Gardening (planting our donations for Mrs Green’s Garden), baking, singing, drama and of course our sponsored walk to St Andrews Church.

SPONSORED WALK: We have your consent for walkable visits.  We will be walking to St Andrews Church and having a drink before we return to school.  If for any reason you wish to withdraw your child from this walk please email njs.admin@taw.org.uk by 8am Monday.  Please do encourage your child to collect sponsorship money using the form that has been sent home: money raised will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support and funding the future development of our garden.  Please send money and forms into school in a sealed envelope on Monday or by Wednesday.

What does your child need on Monday:

*No uniform…. Wear something green!  Anything or everything can be green!  Trainers are a must for the activities and our walk.

*Consider whether you are able to bring a plant donation and any sponsorship.

*IMPORTANT: Bring a filled water bottle, sunhat and sun cream.

*Ideally a packed lunch so we can picnic together as school family on the field.  (Remember Grab and Go can be ordered from the office by emailing njs.admin@taw.org.uk)

Thank you, as always, for the support you give our school family especially this year through our loss.

Leavers Day 2026

Thursday 16th July is ‘2026 Leavers Day’ at NJS.

We will begin the day with a Leavers Service at St Nicholas’ Church beginning shortly after 9am.  The whole school will attend this event.  Year 6 parents (apologies we cannot accommodate parents from other year groups) are welcomed to attend however this is limited to 2 guests per child please.

We will return to school and the children will enjoy the option to have ‘Leavers Lunch’: a menu they have designed as a celebration of their time at NJS.  This will be the menu for the whole school on this date.

During the afternoon the children will be allowed to have their NJS t shirt signed by members of our school family.  Please send them with pens for this: ‘Sharpie’s’ are ideal!

NJS are then hosting a Leavers Party for the Year 6 children 3.30-5.15pm.  Staff will be organising a wide range of activities for the children to enjoy and we will finish with some chips and an ice pop! Children should wear practical clothing for this party: trainers and comfortable clothes as some activities will be ‘sporty’!  If you are collecting your child please do so from the main yard at 5.15pm.

Brass instrument children!

Please could all of the children who attend brass lessons with Mr Wilkes, bring their instrument to school on Friday 10th and Monday 13th?

I would like them to come, with their brass instrument and sheet music for Big Band, to my room at 12pm for twenty minutes.

Thanks so much!
