This week, two of our year six girls have launched a pen recycling scheme within in our school. With the help of Bic’s Recycling Programme and Hollinswood Primary School, we will be collecting used pens and sending them to be recycled.
The girls felt that as a school we used a considerable amount of pens and wished to find a way that we could prevent them from going to landfill.
All writing instruments (except for wooden pencils and chalk) are accepted. Any brand of pen, felt tip, highlighter, marker, correction fluid pot, correction tape, mechanical pencil and eraser pen regardless of their composition.
If the children wish to bring in finished with or broken pens from home for recycling, they are more than welcome to do so.
All members of the NJS school family are welcome to use these recycling points located across the school.
