ANTI-BULLYING WEEK AT NJS!
Anti-Bullying Week 2023 is coordinated in England, Wales and Northern Ireland by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This year it has the theme ‘Make A Noise About Bullying’ and will take place from Monday 13th to Friday 17th November.
At NJS, the children are all completing different tasks in class around the theme of bullying. We want to be a ‘bully buster’ at NJS! What is Bully Buster? Well, a bully buster at NJS is someone who takes action when bullying is happening; someone who helps those around them and someone who speaks up! All children have designed a ‘bully buster’ badge and had in depth discussions on what they included and why.
Alongside the tasks in class, the whole school attended an assembly where Wellbeing Mentors from BBS came along. The children from Burton Borough were fantastic and shared some key messages with the children. What bullying is? What to do if they are being bullied? And many more.
Here is the presentation that BBS delivered:

Well done Mr Marsh!
We are very proud of Mr Marsh who has been awarded ‘Primary School Teacher of the Year’ by Shropshire County Cricket. This is for his contribution to school level cricket across the authority and of course at NJS!
Mr Marsh also achieved an award for ‘Club of the Year’ as he also commits as a volunteer as Junior Coordinator at Allscott and with Shropshire County Teams. What a commitment to youth cricket, well done Mr Marsh from all at NJS.
REMINER: Pantomime Visits
Please find attached a further copy of the letter with details of our forthcoming pantomime visits. Please can we ask you make consent on ParentPay as soon as you are able.
Military Kids Club
In Military Kids Club today, we had an introduction to orienteering. 9 flags were placed around the school grounds and children had to stamp their cards with 9 different patterns. We will build on this during the coming months with the aim of being able to read a map and use a compass accurately!
Next week, we will be going to Beech’s Base to complete some team building activities and make s’mores. Please can your child bring a spare set of clothing or at the very least, a pair of wellies.
