We believe that it is important to teach children to swim, and opportunities for all children to learn are provided through our own swimming pool. This is timetabled for Year groups on a half termly basis so that everyone gets the opportunity to swim each term.
The National curriculum orders states that all schools should aim to teach their children to swim by the time they leave at the end of Year 6. It is therefore essential that children take full part in our swimming programme.
We have extended our swimming programme to involve community groups.
