Year 3 Footballers Showing Compassion!

What compassion shown by these boys…

Harry, Casper and Jake in 3B, Thomas, Arlo, Cohen, Frankie, Arthur and Issac in 3M are taking part in a Rudolph Relay showing their compassion for others.

Nova Stingrays U8 football team are raising money for 2 charities in the lead up to Christmas. They are completing a Rudolph Relay in aid of the Severn Hospice and Ronald McDonald charity. On the 3rd December they will be running a relay across a football pitch totalling the distance between McDonald’s in Newport and the Severn Hospice in Wellington.

Harry’s dad was live on BBC Shropshire Radio on Friday morning, being interviewed on the event as the Manager of the team, gaining publicity for both the fundraising event and Nova United football club who are celebrating 50 years of grass roots football this year.

You can help raise money for by donating online https://www.justgiving.com/team/stingrays?utm_medium=team&utm_content=team%2Fstingrays&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=008

Please support the boys where you can!!

NJS are super proud of these boys and each will receive their compassion badge this week! Well done Stringrays!

3M – True Compassion Shown…

Connie spent last Saturday (16th) raising money for the Christie hospital cancer centre, by setting up her own stall! This was all her own doing and her own idea so everyone was very impressed. She was outside selling all day!  She did this because the Christie is where Connie’s nanny has recently been treated. What a lovely thing to do Connie – showing true compassion to a team who have cared so, so much for someone you love! She is brilliant and has raised nearly £150!

If you wish to support Connie further, she also has a just giving page, so please donate if you can!! https://www.justgiving.com/page/richard-matheson-1731762796313

Well done Isla!

NJS are very proud of Isla from Year 4 who won the Newport Town Council Christmas card competition and turned on Newport’s Christmas Lights on Friday evening.

Well done Isla!

Islamophobia Awareness Month – Assembly

Today, the children in Yr 3, 4 & 6 took part in an assembly looking at Islamophobia Awareness Month.

We discussed what Islamophobia is, the impact it has on individuals and what we, as members of NJS, can do to make a difference. The theme for this year is ‘Seeds of change’ and reflects on how we can all make a small difference by taking action.

At NJS, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive, welcoming and loving environment and this was discussed with the children including how we could all make a difference to the world around us.

For more information on this topic, please take a look at the link: https://www.islamophobia-awareness.org/
