Yr 5 Bikeability Courses as Part of Road Safety Week!
If you would like one of the places for the Bikeability course for Year 5, where children learn to ride their bikes safely on the roads, then follow the link in the attached letter. This is where you sign your child up for a course, which is being run at NJS during Road Safety Week. I will then be in touch closer to the time regarding which day your child needs their bike and safety gear in school.

Drop off and collection…
We have received complaints from the residents of St Nicholas’ Park about parents parking there for school drop off and collection. On occasions residents driveways and junctions have been blocked.
Please can I ask that we are all courteous to our neighbours and make safe and appropriate arrangements for school drop off and collection.
Where possible we ask families walk, scoot or cycle to school. Where it is necessary to drive we ask you use a local car park (e.g. Shuker, Waitrose, Specsavers) and walk from there.
Thank you for your support.

PINS Project at NJS

NJS is delighted to be working as part of the DFE PINS project. This is Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools ( PINS ) and is a national programme that brings specialist health and education professionals and expert parent carers into mainstream primary schools to: help shape whole-school special educational needs and disabilities ( SEND ) provision. We are in Year 2 of our involvement and proud to be enhancing our inclusive provision.
Attendance at NJS
Good school attendance is essential in order for children to reach their full potential.
Please see all NJS attendance information here on our website: https://newportjuniorschool.org.uk/home/joining/attendance/ You will find information about when to send your child to school, term time holiday sanctions and details of what good school attendance looks like.
Pre Loved Uniform

Newport CE Junior school has signed up to the above platform to enable parents to order pre loved uniform for free!
Simply register using the weblink above. If you see an item you would like please ‘send a message’ stating your child’s full name and class. The school office will then send this item home with your child on the next school day. Easy!
We hope this helps families to access pre loved uniform with ease.
Please remember throughout the year we appreciate donations of pre loved uniform to NJS: please bring it to the school office (green jumpers, logo polo shirts, grey items, fleeces… all appreciated!)

Harvest Thank You

Thank you to everyone who made a Harvest donation today, we are very proud to be able to make a difference to our community through Newport Foodbank.
We had a wonderful assembly this afternoon, led by Mr Rotherham, that included readers from each year group and a selection of Harvest songs. It was a collective moment of thanks and reflection.
Year 5 & 6 Rugby Success
The Year 5&6 Rugby team played wonderfully and came back undefeated!
It was new rules for a brand new tournament with a brand new team.
Behaviour was amazing and the overall team play was even better!
Well done NJS.

Girls Football!
On Tuesday afternoon, the girls played Redhill School in the first round of the County Cup. It was a competitive match with both teams playing some excellent football. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way, the game finishing 2-1 to Redhill.
A huge well done to all the girls and a big thank you to Mr Morris for being our ref and Mrs Wood our coach.
We wish Redhill good luck in the next round!
Thank you to kit sponsor The Glasshouse Opticians.

PTA AGM
AGM notice
Wednesday 15th October
18:00-20:00
At Newport Junior School
Our school’s Parent Teacher Association AGM is coming up soon, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible. This is a great chance to hear about the work the PTA has done to support our children this year, share your ideas, and find out how you can get involved.
We’ll be looking for new volunteers to carry the PTA forward. Without a committee, many of the events and extras our children enjoy simply won’t be possible.
Please join us at the AGM, even if you’re just curious to learn more – your support really does make a difference. Together, we can keep making school life special for all our children
