Sincere thanks…
The last few weeks have been really hard and sad for our school family. Mrs Green was such an important part of NJS and is very much missed.
I am very grateful to so many, who over these recent weeks, have shown their support to us.
To parents, carers and members of the community who have sent cards and emails with words of condolences and tributes to Mrs Green: thank you. Please know these have brought a lot of comfort to us.
To all of our parents and carers who collected their children at 12pm on Tuesday: thank you. I cannot put into words how much this meant to our staff. You enabled them to pay their respects to a much loved friend and this was so appreciated.
To all of the community who paid their respects on Avenue Road on Tuesday: thank you. This was a beautiful and fitting tribute to Mrs Green outside NJS, a place she loved so much for so many years. Thank you for taking the time to join us in a moment of respect and thanks.
To the team at Burton Borough School: their support over recent weeks has made an enormous difference to NJS. They have provided me with training and support for the duties that of course Mrs Green would be completing. They have also kindly provided access to counselling for staff and children: I am so grateful.
To the staff at NJS: I am just so proud to work alongside such a wonderful group of people who support each other and so genuinely care for our NJS family. They have shown me immense support and I know how proud they have made Mrs Green.
Of course grief doesn’t end here and our school family will still, understandably, feel a sadness for a time to come. If members of the community or children need support please know we are here and please do make contact.
Your children, and the staff, have really poignant thoughts on how they would further like to celebrate Mrs Green over the coming months; in ways that continue to bring the school family together and mark a legacy.
Thank you all once again for the kindness shown.
Mrs M
