Thursday 17th July 3.15pm

On the main yard on Thursday 17th July at 3.15pm pre loved uniform and unclaimed lost property will be for sale.  Donations will be accepted for School Fund.

Oasis V Robbie!

The Oasis party leader Mrs Cox and Robbie lead Mrs Moody were actively campaigning in assembly this week!  Both ‘party leads’ shared campaign videos and pitched the reasons our NJS family should vote for them!

Who would you vote for?  Great discussion for the dinner table!

The vote will take place on Monday with voting booths set up in the school hall: the result will be revealed at NJSFEST!

Can you help High Five?

High Five would be grateful for any board game donations!  If you have anything you no longer want/use please pop it to High Five.

Thank you for your support.

Dinner Arrears…

Please can we ask that all families log onto Parent Pay and clear their dinner arrears, all accounts should be kept in credit.

Leavers Day

Thursday 17th July is ‘2025 Leavers Day’ at NJS.

We will begin the day with a Leavers Service at St Nicholas’ Church beginning shortly after 9am.  The whole school will attend this event.  Year 6 parents (apologies we cannot accommodate parents from other year groups) are welcomed to attend however this is limited to 2 guests per child please.

We will return to school and the children will enjoy the option to have ‘Leavers Lunch’: a menu they have designed as a celebration of their time at NJS:

Main: NFC (Newport Fried Chicken) Southern Fried Chicken (vegetarian alternative offered), chips and sweet corn.

Pudding: Doughnuts, strawberries and melted chocolate.

During the afternoon the children will be allowed to have their NJS t shirt signed by members of our school family.  Please send them with pens for this: ‘Sharpie’s’ are ideal!

NJS are then hosting a Leavers Party for the Year 6 children 3.30-5.15pm.  Staff will be organising a wide range of activities for the children to enjoy and we will finish with some chips and an ice pop! Children should wear practical clothing for this party: trainers and comfortable clothes as some activities will be ‘sporty’!  If you are collecting your child please do so from the Y6 gate at 5.15pm.

Staff…

Miss Smith will be finishing at NJS at the end of this term.  She has an exciting new challenge in education that she is moving onto in September.  We are very grateful to Miss Smith for all she has done for NJS.  Her commitment to enrichment through dance and netball have been appreciated.

Mrs Yates will also finish at NJS.  Mrs Yates will commence teacher training in September: NJS are proud to be ‘growing the profession’!  She has been a valued member of the HLTA team for over 6 years and will be missed.

Next week we will of course share our thanks with Mr Humphries, Mrs Yates and Miss Smith as they all move on to new adventures in education.  We will miss them all and thank them for their commitment to NJS and the difference they have made to our children.

Thursday Leavers Menu….

Please note the whole school will be offered the ‘Leavers Menu’ on Thursday:

Main: NFC (Newport Fried Chicken) Southern Fried Chicken (vegetarian alternative offered), chips and sweet corn.

Pudding: Doughnuts, strawberries and melted chocolate.
