Pre Loved Uniform at NJS

Newport CE Junior school has signed up to the above platform to enable parents to order pre loved uniform for free!

Simply register using the weblink above.  If you see an item you would like please ‘send a message’ stating your child’s full name and class.  The school office will then send this item home with your child on the next school day.  Easy!

We hope this helps families to access pre loved uniform with ease.

Please remember throughout the year we appreciate donations of pre loved uniform to NJS: please bring it to the school office (green jumpers, logo polo shirts, grey items, fleeces… all appreciated!)

Parents Online Safety Session video – Summer 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

Available for you to watch now is the latest Online Safety video from Knowsley City Learning Centres. The focus for this term’s session is very current and focusses on Live streaming and seeks to advise how to deal with this subject with your child. The link below should take you to the website to watch the video.

Here is the link to the slides being discussed/shown:

Parents Online Safety Briefing May_26

Having watched it myself, and thinking as a parent, it does address some of the key issues faced by most parents, specifically about how to monitor smartphone use, risks and what type of content children are watching/being exposed to, when and how to talk to your child about their online habits and more.

If you are time poor, it is possible to speed up the video playback speed via clicking the ‘cog’ on the bottom right of the playback window, and I would recommend watching from at least the 29 minute-mark to the end. Gary Melia (the presenter) does take questions at the end, some of which are around the perennial question of ‘When should I introduce my child to a Smartphone’.

If you require any further information, please contact myself or Mrs Moody via the School Office.

Kind regards,

Mr Butler

Year 6 Leavers Hoodies!

Year 6 have received their leavers’ hoodies today, a huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for their efforts in fundraising over the last 12 months.  It’s amazing that the children have been gifted these from the PTA and we hope they will take good care of them.

We would like to remind the children of the messages they heard today:

  • The hoodies can be worn in replacement of your green jumper
  • Green jumpers MUST be kept as they are required for the occasional event before you leave (class photo day etc)
  • No hoods to be worn up during school at any point.
  • Be sensible with the weather: please do not wear your hoody when it is particularly warm.
  • Please ensure they are washed regularly

Year 6 SATS Week

All of the staff at NJS are very proud of our Year 6 children this week: their efforts and resilience have been exceptional.

Thank you to our supportive parents.  Thanks also to the wonderful staff who have done so much for the children over their four years and of course this week… cooking breakfast, serving breakfast and ensuring they are okay.

Parental Questionnaire

THANK YOU TO THE PARENT/S WHO SPOTTED THE LINK DIDN’T WORK – IT SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE NOW!!

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you are well.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving Newport Junior School, we are asking all parents and carers to complete a short online questionnaire. Your feedback is extremely valuable and will help us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to develop.

The questionnaire should only take a few minutes to complete, and all responses will be treated confidentially.

You can access the questionnaire using the following link: Parent View of Newport Juniors Summer ’26 – Fill in form

We kindly ask that all responses are submitted by Tuesday 3rd June.

Thank you in advance for your time and support. Your views are important to us and play a key role in shaping the best possible experience for our pupils.
