Well done Evelyn!
Evelyn recently held a bake sale to raise funds for a swimming camp in Spain in the Autumn and completed a sponsored swim with 27 other children with the aim to swim the equivalent of the 7 peaks (86,624 m). Between them all, they achieved 87,450m with Evelyn swimming 2000m in a 1-hour period which is just phenomenal for a 9-year-old and we are super proud. She raised £400 in total!
Additionally, she has spent the weekend at Stafford apex gala this weekend, returning with 4 medals. Whilst this is a wonderful achievement, the best part is that every race she entered, she has improved her personal best in!
Well done Evelyn!

Sarah 3M Raising Money
Here is Sarah from 3M – who has been working extremely hard to raise some money for a children’s charity. She chose to sell her old toys and sweets to anyone walking past her house. Sarah did really well and raised over £20! Well done Sarah a lovely, kind act!

Year 5/6 Girls Friendly
Well done to the year 5/6 girls football team who played an end of term friendly against SS Peter and Paul School yesterday. It was a warm one, so the game was divided into three lots of 10 minutes. By the end of the second ten, it was all square at 1-1 and someone mentioned penalties 🤣
However, in the last 10, SSPP scored 3 quick goals to end the game 4-1. Good luck to the year 6 girls, I hope they continue to play and enjoy their football at their new schools. Year 5’s I’ll see you next year!

End of Year Reports
Parents/Carers
End of year school reports will be sent home with your child on Tuesday. The report will be in your child’s school bag, in a sealed envelope.
If you require an additional copy, for example where parents are not at the same address, please email njs.admin@taw.org.uk to make this arrangement.
NOTE FOR YEAR 6 FAMILIES: Many of your children are on Secondary Transition Days on Tuesday. The reason we are issuing reports on this date is this is the date schools are issued with KS2 SAT results so we get these to you straight away. If your child is not in school on Tuesday and you wish to collect the report please come to the school office between 3pm and 4pm when the report and results will be ready to collect. If you do not collect the report it will be sent home with your child on their next day in NJS.
On Wednesday 9th July we are holding our annual Open Evening. School will be open between 3.30 and 6pm. You are welcomed to come into school, at a time convenient to you, to view your child’s books in their current classroom. You may also use this as an opportunity to talk with your child’s current class teacher and to visit your child’s new classroom and introduce yourself to their new teacher for September.
Any queries please do contact a member of the team.

Year 6 Leavers Day!
Thursday 17th July is ‘2025 Leavers Day’ at NJS.
We will begin the day with a Leavers Service at St Nicholas’ Church beginning shortly after 9am. The whole school will attend this event. Year 6 parents (apologies we cannot accommodate parents from other year groups) are welcomed to attend however this is limited to 2 guests per child please.
We will return to school and the children will enjoy the option to have ‘Leavers Lunch’: a menu they have designed as a celebration of their time at NJS:
Main: NFC (Newport Fried Chicken) Southern Fried Chicken (vegetarian alternative offered), chips and sweet corn.
Pudding: Doughnuts, strawberries and melted chocolate.
During the afternoon the children will be allowed to have their NJS t shirt signed by members of our school family. Please send them with pens for this: ‘Sharpie’s’ are ideal!
NJS are then hosting a Leavers Party for the Year 6 children 3.30-5.15pm. Staff will be organising a wide range of activities for the children to enjoy and we will finish with some chips and an ice pop! Children should wear practical clothing for this party: trainers and comfortable clothes as some activities will be ‘sporty’! If you are collecting your child please do so from the Y6 gate at 5.15pm.
