Let’s Clean!

I was recently asked to complete a review of our caretaking and cleaning team for some promotional materials and was only too happy to do so: they are AMAZING!

Thank you to the Caretaking and Cleaning Team for all they do for our school environment.

Sun Safety

I hope I’m not speaking too soon but we have some sunshine!!

I wanted to take the opportunity to give some reminders about sun safety at school:

*Please apply sun cream before your child attends for school.  Please do send them with a named bottle of sun cream they can reapply before lunchtime (please note school staff cannot do this so please ensure you have shown your child how to do this).  Children may only use their own sun cream: staff will not allow them to share due to allergies etc.

*Please send your child to school with a named sun hat they can wear when outside.

*Please send your child to school with a filled water bottle which they can refill during the day to ensure they remain hydrated.

Thank you for working together to keep our children safe.

Education in Uganda…

We were delighted to welcome David from Newport Churches Together into school to lead assembly on Wednesday.  David often comes in to school to lead worship.

This week he spoke to the children about his involvement in setting up a new school in Uganda to serve a community that did not previously have access to education.  Staff and children were fascinated with the work that had been carried out in this community.  David was able to share photos and videos of the school from his visits.

Thank you to David for sharing this with NJS.

Fire Drill

Next week we will have a Fire Drill in school and the Fire Service will be joining us.  They will be bringing a fire engine onto site for this session and we have spoken to the children about this in advance.
