Mental Health Awareness Week – Faye and Logan

Well done to Faye and Logan for doing some super activities to look after their mental wellbeing. They have enjoyed lots of mental health awareness activities whilst listening to the birds and rain outside. They also did feelings jenga, feelings word searches, emoji throwing and strengths bingo. What great ideas!

URGENT: SCHOOL SAFETY

We have notified the Police of an incident that occurred outside our school this morning which placed our children at risk.

Please can I remind you:

*Do not park on zig zag lines outside any school.

*Reversing on school roads will put the community at risk.

*Please walk to school or park away from Avenue Road and walk to site.

We need to work together to keep our children safe and appreciate your support.

Great News! School Holiday Provision for NIS and NJS!

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am sorry that we have not been able to get back to you any sooner than today with news of our proposed holiday offer but we have been trying to establish something which is sustainable so that parents can rely on there being a high quality provision for their children every holiday moving forwards.
We have been working with Beckie Shaw who was the main coach used by Activ8 at our school. Beckie is an excellent coach and she has also worked in school in the past. Beckie has spent the last few months trying to set herself up so that she can take on the holiday club role for Newport Infant School and Newport Junior School. She has now ensured that she meets all of the criteria to run the club safely and that she is compliant with the guidance.
The club will run privately and will be manned by Beckie and her staff rather than staff from school. All correspondence relating to the provision will need to be made directly with Beckie using the email on the attached flyer.
The first holiday club by Beckie is scheduled to be this May half term.
Beckie is also currently working on her summer holiday offer which is looking as though it will run for the first four weeks of the summer holiday. This allows time for the school clean prior to the return of our pupils to the school site along with any planned repairs to school.
If you wish to book your child onto the holiday club for May half term please contact Beckie directly. She will take bookings on a first come first served basis so please do not delay if you know that you want a place for your child.
I would like to thank Beckie for her hard work over the last few months to get this up and running so quickly. Noah’s Ark provided a fabulous offer at Easter but this is not sustainable for them for a number of reasons. We have had a very positive relationship with our holiday club providers over the years and I am sure that our children will have a lovely time with the activities that Beckie has planned.
