Newport Junior School liaises very carefully with all three secondary schools in our area and has built strong transitional links with all three. Our annual aim is to make the transfer to secondary a positive and natural experience.
The three secondary schools are proud of the academic standards achieved by their pupils and they work co-operatively in a number of areas.

Adams’ Grammar is a voluntary aided school for boys. Its history dates back to 1656. It is a selective school with its own co-ed sixth form and also boarding facilities.

Burton Borough School is a mixed secondary school which caters for over 1000 children aged 11-16. The school is a well-equipped modern building in spacious grounds on the edge of town. The school caters for children of all abilities and the organisation of the curriculum is such that all children are fully able to fulfil their potential.#

Newport Girls’ High School has been on its present site since 1925. There have been considerable additions to the buildings and facilities since then. The school has about 30 girls in each year and its own sixth form.
