Please note that I have received the following message from the Local Authority safeguarding team.  It refers to an incident involving a pupil from Moorfield Primary School this afternoon: 

‘One of our year 6 pupils was walking home this evening along Boughey Road in Newport.  As she got to the first turning, a man grabbed her by the arm and said “you’re coming with me”

The pupil managed to pull herself away and ran home.  She said that it all happened very quickly and she didn’t have a full description but she described the man as old.   Mum has phoned 101.’

Please be vigilant.  Discuss travel to school arrangements with your child and advice for keeping safe.
