As you will be aware the Year 6 cohort have taken their SATS this week: assessments in spelling, punctuation and grammar, reading and Maths. The children have taken a total of six statutory assessment papers across four mornings.
I wanted to write as I wanted you to know how proud we are of these children.
As we know the last two years have been like no other: we have faced challenges that have tested our resilience and meant that children have had lengthy periods of time away from school. Despite the impact of this our sensational Year 6 children had the perseverance, motivation and determination to manage the challenge of the assessments this week. They worked hard, tried their best, supported each other and kept positive. I am in awe of their resilience and character.
Whatever the results ‘tell’ us in July I am a very proud Headteacher because our Year 6 children are wonderful young people who have developed skills and personalities that can go on to achieve great things.
Well done to Year 6 from our school family: have a lovely weekend.
