Childcare Funding for Working Families

Working families across Telford and Wrekin can sign up for tax free childcare.

Please share details with parents and carers.

For every £80 they spend on childcare, they could get an extra £20 through the government’s Childcare Choices. They can claim a maximum of £2,000 each year to help cover the cost of childcare. This includes wraparound care such as breakfast and after school clubs!

Manor Adventure 2025!

The children who attended this visit were EXCEPTIONAL.  Their behaviour, enthusiasm, team work… everything was super.  We are very proud of them all and they were a pleasure to take on a residential visit.

The children completed a range of activities including climbing, fencing and a zip line!  I’m told the food was very good (!) and they also had a great time exploring the Quarry in Shrewsbury on the way to Manor Adventure.

There was a bump involving the coaches on the return journey to school.  The children were the priority in this incident and fortunately all were okay.  Please be assured the school do not have concerns about the incident, it was sadly one of those things but we have submitted a full report to the Local Authority to ensure this is logged.  As Headteacher I of course commend the staff who managed this and the care of the children so well.

I am, as always, extremely grateful to the staff team who supported this visit.  They gave their time from their families to enable this visit to go ahead.  Children were cared for and given experiences that will have created a lifetime of memories.

Thank you to families for their support: enabling your children to go on this visit and supporting the school, we are very grateful.

NJS ACHIEVES ANOTHER AWARD, IN ADDITION TO SCHOOL OF SANCTUARY AND ARTSMARK WE HAVE NOW ACHIEVED…..

THE ‘SANDWELL WELLBEING CHARTER MARK’!!!!

We are the second school in Telford and Wrekin to achieve this accreditation.  This is an EXCEPTIONAL achievement and recognises a true strength of NJS.  We are very proud.

This Charter Mark audit was led by Mrs Ollerenshaw who is one of the schools Wellbeing Leads and a Mental Health First Aider.  There were regular meetings throughout the audit and assessment period with Psychologists and Wellbeing Leads to review provision at NJS.  Assessment involved pupil voice, parent voice, staff voice and data analysis.

The rigorous assessment found that NJS is a champion of emotional health and wellbeing, respect and diversity are promoted here and there are very strong, respectful relationships within the school community.

‘Everyone genuinely cares’

‘A big family feel, everyone is valued and supported.  You feel listened to.’

Headteacher Mrs Moody is delighted with this accreditation; ‘We genuinely hold wellbeing at the centre of all we do, for both staff and children.  We know that if people are looked after they will reach their potential.  I am very proud to be part of a team who really do care.’
