Newport Carnival 2025!

Huge thank you to everyone who supported NJS in the 2025 Newport Carnival…

*Our wonderful children who looked amazing and were full of enthusiasm.

*The staff team, led by Mr M, who had organised the float and supervised the children on the day.

*Parents and Carers who helped to decorate the float.

*Mr Kowalski and family who provided and drove our lorry.

NJS had a super time at the carnival and were very proud to be part of a ‘memory making experience which is what it is all about for us!  We were of course proud to be awarded ‘Most Colourful’, ‘Most Enthusiastic’ and ‘Best Overall Float’.  Well done NJS!

Teachers will be planning to deliver the RSE curriculum to the children within the next few weeks. I attach here a letter explaining about our approach to teaching of RSE. I also include an information pack for parents, a parental guide to RSE and the right to withdraw form.

Please take the time to read through the materials.

After achieving incredible success in the Telford Rounders League NJS competed in the Shropshire Rounders Final today!
The team were EXCELLENT! Their energy, attitude and enthusiasm were exceptional.
They finished in 2nd place! What an achievement! Well done to our Rounders Team and Mr Humphries.

Works at NJS…

You will be aware of scaffolding being erected on the Victorian blocks this week… this is to prepare for some works that will be taking place on the roofing of these buildings.

You will also be aware of ongoing scaffolding and works on the Bungalow at the back of school: this is related to the complete refurbishment of this building for our SEND Resource Provision which will open in September.

We are excited for the work on school site to maintain and extend facilities for the future.

Mr Humphries…

Mr Humphries will finish at NJS at the end of term.  He will be very much missed at NJS, he has been a highly valued member of our team.

I am delighted that he has enjoyed working in school and has decided to pursue a career in teaching.  Mr Humphries will be completing his teaching qualification in the next academic year.

We send Mr Humphries our best wishes and will celebrate with him at the end of term with our bucket hats on!!
