Update

Parents and Carers,

This evening we received an update from the Department for Education:

it will not be possible to resume face-to-face learning immediately after the February half-term and instead hopes it will be safe to commence the re-opening of schools and colleges from Monday 8 March. This is in response to the national public health data and pressure on NHS capacity.’

‘Education settings, as well as students, parents and carers will be given at least two weeks notice to prepare for a return to face-to-face education.

Schools and colleges will remain open to vulnerable children and young people and the children of critical workers after February half-term, as they are now. All other pupils will continue to receive high quality remote education at home. This is in line with the wider national lockdown measures to help minimise the spread of the virus and respond quickly to the new variant.

We know this is hard, we want to see our NJS children and we know they are missing school.  We also know how important it is for us all to do the ‘right thing’ at this time for the safety of our community.  We are thinking of you all and are looking forward to ‘fully’ opening our doors again.

Parents and carers please be kind to yourselves: looking after your children, alongside other commitments whilst also supporting their Remote Learning is hard.  We appreciate this completely: many of us are parents/carers too and the challenges are understood!  Doing your best for your children and keeping them safe is more than enough at this time.

If you need us or want to talk through anything please don’t hesitate to telephone or email and we will do our best to help.

Mrs M x
