There has been a query over which menu the kitchens will be serving this week. They are working to the Week 3 menu carrying on from where they got to before the Christmas break.
Sorry for any confusion.

Mr Rotherham
A big thank you to the local Rotary Club for their kind donation of books for children.
Well done to the children who won the Christmas Poetry writing competition set by Mrs Breen in the library.
1st – Alex (5M) won a B&M Voucher
2nd- Imogen (3P) won a Selection Box.
3rd- Annabel (5H) won a Selection Box.
Three children came very close and so won small prizes for their enthusiastic entries!
Ewan, Georgia and Isaac all from 5M
Thank you Mrs Breen for arranging this.
The PTA will be running a ‘Christmas Fun Day‘ on Friday 17th December.
Children pay £2 to wear mufti on that day.
That £2 will also allow them to take part in some Christmas games in the hall and a Christmas movie in their classrooms.
There will be sweets and small prizes to be won in the games they play.
Class groups will be timetabled across the day to ensure our year group Bubbles are kept separate.
Many thanks to the PTA for arranging this for the children on the last day of what has been a busy term.
Friday 10th December
Save the Children
Christmas Jumper Day!
£1 Donation.
Children may wear mufti clothes with their Christmas Jumper!
Parents who park on Avenue Road during drop off and collection times please be aware of where you leave your car.
Please make sure you are not stopping safe use of pavements and impacting on other parents and children crossing the road to get to school.
Thank you.
The Reading Agency is teaming up with the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), to launch a Winter Mini reading Challenge.
Following the success of the summer reading challenge, the winter challenge encourages children to continue reading over the winter holidays with a free, digital platform offering rewards and prizes. The Reading Agency previously collaborated with WWF, one of the world’s largest independent conservation organisations, and came up with the summer reading challenge’s theme of Wild World Heroes.
The Wild World characters will be going on an Arctic adventure to explore and celebrate the natural world. Following the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow, the theme aims to inspire children to explore ways of helping to save the planet and tackling environmental issues.
The Winter Mini Challenge is run through The Reading Agency’s digital platform and to complete it, children read three or more books of their own choice, add it to their Challenge website profile and leave a short book review. The challenge will launch on 1st December and run until 16th February.
You do not have to do anything, and your child will not have to self-isolate and can come in to school as normal, but you may be contacted by Test & Trace if your child is identified as a close contact. If they are, the advice you will be given on behalf of your child is as follows:
“Even if you do not have symptoms, you will be advised to have a PCR test as soon as possible. Children aged 4 and under will not be advised to take a test unless the positive case was someone in their own household.
You should not arrange to have a PCR test if you have previously received a positive PCR test result in the last 90 days, unless you develop any new symptoms of COVID-19, as it is possible for PCR tests to remain positive for some time after COVID-19 infection.
Even if you are vaccinated, you can still be infected with COVID-19 and pass it on to others. If you are identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 but you are not required to self-isolate, you can help protect others by following the guidance on how to stay safe and help prevent the spread. As well as getting a PCR test, you may also consider:
This advice applies until 10 full days after your most recent contact with the person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
If you develop symptoms at any time, even if these are mild, self-isolate immediately, arrange to have a COVID-19 PCR test and follow the guidance for people with COVID-19 symptoms.”
You may wish to follow this advice in any case, but we would certainly ask that you are vigilant for symptoms and if your child does develop symptoms, keep them off school and get them PCR tested using the following link: : https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
Take care
