What a fantastic start to Music Day, a drumming masterclass from Olly James.
Sadly, I don’t think I will be the next Phil Collins!

We had a wonderful day thinking about what we would like to do in the future! What might be our future job? Children had the chance to share how they had come dressed, ready for their future career and talked about why they want to do that job.
Children met with Mr Matthews from the fire service and talked to him about what he does in his role. Mr Jones quite fancies a change of career now!
We are excited that work has started today on our swimming pool refurbishment but as a result we need to ask the children to park their bikes and scooters in an alternative space for the next few weeks.
Please leave all bikes and scooters in the quiet area on the big playground. I have also shared this message with the children in school today so they know where to park them in the morning.
Regards,
Mr Rotherham

Year 3 Spring 2019 Planning Overview for Parents
As part of our Raising Aspirations Week we would like the children to think about what they want to do when they grow up. What would you like to be? A ballroom dancer? An actor? Footballer? Astronaut? Surgeon? Website Designer? Mechanic? Author?
On Thursday 24th January we would like the children to dress up as their future self!
So please come to school dressed up for the job you would like to do in the future.
Serious concerns have been raised today about children using the Tik Tok app on their telephones or devices. Parents need to be aware that the app allows children to participate in live chats in chatrooms where the children do not know who they are chatting with. Please read the advice on this link from www. saferinternet.org.uk about the app

Den building, deer watching, woodland walks and hedgehog hunting!
We have spent today thinking about Diversity and how we celebrate our differences! Some children have looked at Diversity through food, through music and dance. Children have looked at stories from different cultures. Tolerance and respect for our differences are important British Values.
A rainbow of different colours today to represent our differences. A NJS we celebrate our differences.
As part of Peace Week we all ate Jelly Babies in assembly!
Did you know that Jelly Babies were re-christened Peace Babies following the end of the First World War.
