Children will be bringing home a letter tonight explaining about our Sponsored Read organised through Usbourne Books. It is called Ready Steady Read.

Over the next two weeks we are asking children to see if they can get sponsored to read every night. They will also bring home a sponsorship form and a reading log to record how much they have read.

We have reminded children that they must not ask for sponsorship from anyone they do not know.

Money raised will go towards buying new books for our School library, which is in need of some new non-fiction books for the children.

The reading log can will run from 13th – 24th January and during this time children can fill that in and don’t have to fill in their Reading Diary as well.

All money raised to be in school by Friday 31st January.

Children have been set a Reading Challenge in class today to read 20 different kinds of books in 2020!

The link below shows you the sheet all children have been give in class and is being kept in their tray.

Teachers will be supporting your child to choose different kinds of books. It is important children are encouraged to read broadly and from a range of fiction and non-fiction books at what ever their reading ability.

To help at home, you might encourage them to look for books which might tick one of their empty boxes and add a new kind of book to their reading diet!

20 Books for 2020

We have all been voting in our own election. There was a real buzz from the children about casting their votes in the school hall Polling Station.

Children and staff have all cast their votes and the result will be shared in assembly later today!

         Will it be Polar Express or Home Alone?
