Homework

This week for homework we would like the children to create a poster to raise the awareness of staying safe on the internet. Next Tuesday, it is ‘Safer Internet Day’ and with more and more children accessing the internet, we are hoping to create a display out of them.

Alongside the poster, the children will need to read three times to an adult.

If they could access times tables rock stars during the next week as well.

Finally, they will be coming home with a new set of spellings due to be tested next Friday (8th February).

Homework is due in either Monday 4th or Tuesday 5th of February.

Homework

This week for homework the children will be coming home with word problems based on the 3/6 times tables. Some children will be given a different piece of homework and this will also be about times tables.

Alongside this, the children need to read at least 3 times to an adult. We would also like the children to try and access times tables rock stars at least twice (where possible).

The spellings for this week will be found below and will be tested on Thursday 31st January. They are having the test a day early due to music day on the Friday.

Homework – Week 3

This week for homework the children will be given one of the following:

1 star – Adverbs activity.

2/3 Star – Tenses activity (please see the help sheet if needed).

Alongside the above the children will also have new spellings to learn, which will be tested Friday 25th January.

Spellings Wk 3

We would kindly ask that the children read 3 times to an adult during the week. Finally, due to the great success of times tables rock stars we are asking that the children can access this at least once or twice during the next week. From what we’ve heard so far, the children love it and it’s making a difference already!

As it is ‘future me day’ on Monday, a ‘talk homework’ will be coming home. This is for you and your child to discuss what they would like to be when they are older ready for dressing up on Monday. This does not have to be written down, it can be just a discussion.

Homework is due in Monday 21st or Tuesday 22nd January.

Have a lovely weekend!

Homework

This week the children will have science homework about forces. They will need to fill in the gaps and then design a shoe!

The spellings for this week are below for each group. They will be tested Friday 18th January.

Alongside this, the children will need to read to an adult 3 times during the week.

Homework is due in on either Monday 14th or Tuesday 16th January.

Year 4 Christmas Party

Our Christmas party will be held on Thursday 20th December. The children will enjoy games and fun followed by some party food.

If it would be possible for you to contribute an item of food to be shared amongst the children, it will be greatly appreciated. Food items could include: crisps, cakes, savoury snacks, vegetarian snacks and bread sticks. The children will all be coming home with a letter and a reply slip. Please indicate what item you are able to contribute and send it back as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Christmas Play!

Just a polite reminder for our Christmas play on Thursday 13th September. The children need to arrive no later than 5:40pm. The doors will open at 5:30pm. The children will go to their classroom to change for the production and then make their way to the stage.

Children can be taken home after the performance. Any children in school costumes will need to get changed at the end so that they can be left in school.

Thank you for your co-operation.

The year 4 team.

Lights Camel Action

We are very excited for you to come and see our Christmas production this year! The children are working exceptionally hard and you’ll be able to see how much fun we have had putting it together.

Mrs Sisson, Mrs Potter and myself will be making decisions on any costumes that children need to wear for the production after school.

We will talk these through with the children tomorrow and send them home with a slip. Please use things that you have got around your house to create a costume.

Any children who are hosts in the production already know they are required to wear all black and one item in the colour that they have been given.

Thank you for your continued support!
