Y6 trip to Crucial Crew

Children are coming home tonight with a letter regarding Crucial Crew. Crucial Crew is an event organised between Telford and Wrekin and all the emergency services. Children learn how to respond to scenarios and learn how to make informed decisions about safety.

The event is held at TCAT. This will take place on the 11th of July.

Please read the letter for more details or speak to a member of the Year 6 team.

Please return slips as soon as possible. The deadline for slips is Friday 5th July.

Thank you for your support!

BBS visit Friday and Jar for Summer Fair

We are still awaiting permission slips for this visit, please complete and return before Friday.

On Friday, children are being asked to bring a jar for mufti, however as we are visiting Burton Borough, Y6 cannot wear mufti. Year 6 children need to be in school uniform, including green jumpers and cardigans. Year 6 children can still bring a jar but wear mufti on Tuesday (02.07.19) of next week instead.

Thank you for your support!

Reminder of homework due Monday 24th

Reminder about homework due on Monday 24th June.

Children need to research local and national news stories, making notes in their homework books.

We will be completing the newspaper reports in class during the week.

Children are still expected to read at least 3 times per week and record all reading in their reading record.

Yr6 homework due 24.06.19

Literacy the week beginning 24th June will be the completion of work based around journalistic writing. We are entering children’s work in to the Rotary Club competition as part of the Newport Show.

Can all Year 6 children research current news stories in local and national newspapers?

They need to have key facts that explore news stories that interest them, covering a range of topics: sport, environment, local issues, wildlife, agriculture, politics, fashion, music, arts or drama.

Children will be expected to create a whole front page, applying all newspaper report features and ensuring that they create an engaging front cover.

Children are only required to research stories as all written work will be completed in class.

Y6 homework

All Y6 children are expected to read and record their reading in their reading records.

Reading diaries are checked weekly and children are expected to read with an adult at least 3 times per week, plus read independently on a regular basis.

Please encourage your child to engage with reading!

Y6 Swimming

Reminder for Y6 children to bring in swimming kits, towels and swimming caps for Monday please. It is advisable that Y6 also bring in PE kits, especially those not going to London on Wednesday.
