Blue 4 a Loo – Friday 24th March

As part of our ongoing efforts to develop Global Citizenship Education in our children, we will be holding a Blue 4 a Loo mufti day on Friday 24th March.

We ask that all children come to school wearing blue clothing for a £1 voluntary donation. All funds raised will go towards our contribution to Toilet Twinning – a campaign to fund toilet blocks in some of the poorest countries across the world.

Our Global Avengers led an assembly this week on the issue, and will be helping to run a series of activities on this day. There will also be a cake sale where all items will be available for voluntary donations.

Our effort links in with our school values of Courage, Community & Compassion and we are excited that our children will be able to play their part in bringing about change for those most in need.

Yr 6 Shrewsbury Visit – PERMISSON NEEDED

Please can we ask parents/carers of Yr 6 children to ensure they have granted permission for our upcoming visit to Shrewsbury on Monday 27th March.

So far only 44 of the 90 children have been given permission. Please access Parent Pay to grant permission. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Yr 6 team.

6J PE Kits

Just a reminder that children in 6J have been asked to bring their PE kits into school all week.
We will be doing PE tomorrow afternoon (weather depending) and Friday.

There may be instances where PE slots do change during the week. The children will be made aware of this; however we do ask that the children have their kit in school as a precaution.

Thank you

Yr 6 Swimming Reminder

Reminder for Yr 6 children that we are swimming on MONDAY this week as we are at the BBS on Tuesday afternoon.

Please make sure you have your swimming kits in school for tomorrow as this will be our final swimming session of the half term.

Yr 6 visit to Newport Trinity Church

Year 6 visited Newport Trinity Church this morning in our on-going effort to show the children how religious buildings can be used across a spread of faiths/denominations.

None of the children had visited this building before and enjoyed looking at how different it is to our usual visit to St. Nic’s, whilst still identifying the distinctive Christian features.

Rev.d David gave us a short service, including a history of the church and answered many of our questions. We are very grateful for Rev.d David hosting us today.

4M Netball Session

4M enjoyed learning new netball skills today during their PE session. We looked at improving our passing, catching and movement.

We ended by playing some mini games using 4 v 4 teams.

Each team got to demonstrate their teamwork to the class and Mr J was very impressed by what he saw!

Well done, 4M!
