Marc Bates, subject to the necessary checks, has been appointed as a Parent Governor for Newport CE Junior School.

Summer Fayre letter 2022

Please see the details attached.  We would appreciate your donations to make the fair a success.  Money raised will go to NJS School Fund.

REMEMBER: Mufti on Thursday 7th July in exchange for a filled jar for the Jar Stall!  Jars can be filled with wrapped sweets, a small toy or toiletries for example.  Please bring your jar with you on Thursday.

You may collect your child at 2pm to visit the Fair together or if you would like to send them with some money they can visit the fair and be collected at 3.15pm as usual.

I can’t believe they are going to be leaving us… where have those years gone?!  As always we want to ensure that we celebrate the end of their Junior School journey so wanted to share our plans with you:

Friday 15th July: Children can wear their own clothes for a visit to the Wildings at Chetwynd Aston.  They have kindly offered the site to us that we visited earlier in the year.  Children will walk there after 9am and then return to school for 2pm for the PTA disco!

Thursday 21st July: Leavers Day!

8.45am Leavers Service at St Nicholas’ Church: Year 6 Parents and Carers welcome to attend.

Back at school: Shirt signing!  Year 6 are welcome to bring a t shirt and a Sharpie for staff and friends to sign their good luck messages.

Leavers Lunch: Year 6 will choose the lunch menu for the day (more info nearer the time)

3.15-5pm Leavers Party! All of the NJS staff will supervise the children for their chosen ‘Beach Themed’ Leavers Party including Mocktails, chips and ice cream!  Children are welcome to bring a change of clothes: tie dye t shirts would be perfect for a beach party!

Please can I thank everyone who made the Years 3, 4 and 5 Commonwealth Sports Days so successful this week: they have been brilliant, enjoyable events.

Thank you to parents, friends and family who came along to support the children: you gave them great support.  A special well done to those who took part in the adults races!

Huge thanks to the wonderful staff for their organisation and supervision!

Most importantly well done to all of the children for their excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm: well done.

Of course we have our Year 6 Sports Day left to look forward to:

Friday 8th July 1.30pm: Year 6 Sports Day:

*Children to come to school in their PE kit including a t shirt ideally in their house colour or white if it is not possible.

*Start time 1.30pm.

*The Security Gate in front of the office will be open 1.20-1.30pm.

*Bring your chairs if you can!

*Refreshments will be on sale: bring your pennies to support School Fund!  Ice pops available for the children at the end of the afternoon for 50p

There are no further clubs for the remainder of this Summer Term.

Well done to all of the children who have participated so enthusiastically in this terms club provision.
