What to do at half term?!

I know ‘the Moody’s’ enjoy catching up with friends and family during school holidays and I’m sure, like us, we all appreciate this half term will be a little different…..

We all recognise we need a break, it has been a tough half term and families, staff and children have worked VERY hard. Make sure you and your children do have some time for yourselves.  I gave these to the staff today as a small gesture to remind them of the importance of having a break especially this half term!

IF you are trying to think of things to do over half term NJS has some ideas that may help and you can use IF you choose!

* I have created a Half Term Bingo card of activity ideas your children may enjoy over the half term break:

Mrs M’s Feb Half Term challenges!

* Mrs Thomas has kindly set up a Newport Treasure Hunt (paper copies are available in the drop box and you are welcome to email answers in to njs.year5@taw.org.uk) :

HALF TERM TREASURE HUNT QUESTIONS

Remember as well…..

If you haven’t had time the following are still available on our Website, You Tube page and/or Facebook page….

*Baking with Miss Jones

*Crafting with Miss Watson

*Big Sing music sessions provided by Miss Hardy and TACT

*TTRS Battles set by Mr Jones

AND REMEMBER: You can prep a fabulous World Book Day costume ready for Thursday 4th March if you wish!

Art Challenge!

Remember: Mrs Jukes has set you an art challenge to decorate rocks to brighten our school grounds with Norman the NJS snake!  These are the rocks we have received so far, they look fab!

Rocks are available by the drop box if you’d like to collect one on your daily walk.  Please return your decorated rock to the drop box for us to add to our snake!

A great idea for a half term activity.

Assembly Today! Safer Internet Day

Thank you to everyone who joined for assembly today.  I am really sorry for the loss of connection in the middle; both parts are available on our Facebook page!

There are more videos focused on the theme of ‘online trust’ that your children may benefit from available here:

https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/page/sidtv.html

I hope you enjoyed a ‘screen free’ afternoon and the time to reflect on the trust you place in what you read online.
