New half term….

We hope that our families have had an enjoyable and relaxing half term break.

We are looking forward to seeing the children back in school on Monday.

Please note that the same routines and procedures will apply on Monday as adopted on our return in September.

School Photographs!

We are delighted that Academy Photography will be able to take individual school photographs on Monday 2nd November. Photographs will be taken, within bubbles, during the school day.

We know it is always lovely to get families together for photographs and in school siblings but we hope you appreciate organisationally this would be impossible if we are to keep our bubble groups secure.

Despite photographs being individuals only we are just pleased that NJS children will not miss the opportunity for that ‘classic’ school photograph to look back on when they are 18!

Half term Contact

I hope that all of our staff and families have a relaxing and safe half term.

Should your child or a member of their household have a positive COVID test during half term or are asked to self isolate for 14 days please can you notify school by emailing nicola.moody@taw.org.uk

Please remember that if your child or a member of the household develop COVID symptoms (high temperature, persistent cough or loss of taste/smell) then the household is required to isolate and seek a test. Until the test result is received the household must isolate and NOT attend school.

I am sure you appreciate I am in ‘great need’ (!!) of a half term break however I will be expected to monitor these circumstances and will check emails at least once a day. It will be important for our safe return to school that we are informed of these situations as they arise and would appreciate your support with this.

Poppy Sales

We will sell poppies and other items from the Royal British Legion on the way into school. If they can have their money ready on their way into school we will begin sales on Wednesday 4th November.

Donations for a poppy.

Recommended donations:

50p for a zip pull

50p for a reflector

£1 for a wristband

£1.50 for a snap band

Poppy Pictures

Your child will come home with a poppy colouring sheet from the Royal British Legion. It has been suggested, just like we displayed rainbows at the start of lockdown, that families may wish to display a poppy picture in their windows to mark remembrance.

We look forward to seeing poppy pictures around our town.

Poppies will be on sale in school (within bubbles) after half term; more details to follow.

Welcome to new members of the team

Over the last week we have been delighted to welcome new members to the staff team:

Miss Bold has been appointed as a teacher for the remainder of this academic year. She will be working to lead interventions across the school next half term and to provide cover in the event of the absence of a teacher.

Miss Whitehouse, Mrs Anderson and Miss Crompton have joined the Teaching Assistant Team. We are looking forward to working with them.

Thank you NJS children!

It has been a genuine pleasure to welcome you back into school this half term. We are so, so proud of how well you have done on your return to school; you have been happy and positive. Staff are so pleased with how hard you have worked; well done for the progress you have made.

You are excellent role models for compassion, courage and community and we are very proud of you.

Thank you Team NJS

I am so grateful to the NJS staff for their hard work and commitment this half term. They have worked in challenging circumstances with a commitment and positivity that has made a difference to our wonderful children.

The staff have shown resilience in adopting new routines and have enabled children to feel comfortable with these routines and positive about being back in school.

They are a very special team and I hope all of them have a relaxing and enjoyable break (especially after an 8 week half term!).
