Our school is a very special place where we work together to ensure everyone can reach their potential with a welcoming and inclusive ethos. The safety and happiness of all members of our school family is my priority.
It is essential that all members of our school family work together appropriately for the sake of our children. Our pupils will excel if we have strong relationships between parents/carers, school staff, Governors and of course the children themselves.
I wanted to take this opportunity, early in the school year, to remind everyone of our Parent Code of Conduct:
Parent-Code-of-Conduct
I ask that where you have a concern about the school you politely approach a member of team to discuss this; this could be myself as the Headteacher, Mr Rotherham as the Deputy or a class teacher as appropriate to the concern you have.
Our code of conduct clearly states:
‘Social Media websites are being used increasingly to fuel campaigns and complaints
against schools, Head teachers, school staff, and in some cases other parents/carers
or pupils.
The Department for Education and Governors of Newport CE Junior School considers
the use of Social Media websites in this way as unacceptable. Any concerns you
may have about the school or your child/children must be made through the
appropriate channels by speaking to the class teacher, the Head teacher or the Chair
of Governors, where they will be dealt with fairly, appropriately and effectively for all
concerned. You may wish to view our Complaints Policy alongside this.
Libellous or Defamatory Posts – In the event that any pupil or parent/carer of a
child/children at Newport CE Junior School is found to be posting libellous or
defamatory comments on Facebook or other social networking sites, they will be
reported to the appropriate ‘report abuse’ section of the network site.’
Please therefore refrain from posting negative opinions on social media for the sake of our children: instead let me know your concerns and allow me to respond and resolve.
We want to work alongside our parents and carers to support our children and to enable them to access a great Junior School offer academically and beyond: building positive relationships is essential for this and we are grateful to you, as parents and carers, for your commitment to this.
Mrs Moody
