We wish to make you aware that we have a case of head lice in Year 5.
Please can we ask that you routinely check your child’s hair. Please treat appropriately should you find headlice, advice can be found here

Thank you to parents and carers who attended the session with PC Ridgewell on Monday. Please find above the link to the resources she referred to.
Academy Photography will be in school on the 27th September to take individual school photographs and sibling groups.
If you have siblings in other settings and would like them photographed with your NJS child please be at the Year 6 gate (opposite One Dental) at 8.30am.
A reminder to families who are new to NJS you will have received a letter with your Parent Pay activation information on Friday.
Please can we ask that you activate your account immediately. It’s a really important system we use for school meals, trips and clubs.
We will soon be releasing our club menu for this term and you will not be able to sign up to clubs without a Parent Pay account.
Any queries (or if you didn’t get a letter) please contact njs.admin@taw.org.uk or call 01952 38660.
Thank you for your support.
If your Year 6 child will be taking the 11+ on Monday 18th September please can we ask that you email njs.admin@taw.org.uk to inform them about your child’s attendance that day.
If your child is in the first session for the 11+ they can then return to school for the afternoon. If your child is in the second session for the 11+ they can attend for school first and then be collected as required from the school office.
Please email njs.admin@taw.org.uk with your plans for your child that day so we aren’t contacting you unnecessarily.
Thank you for your support,
At NJS we want to work together with families to share information.
*Please ensure you have signed up on the website to receive newsletters and any daily updates from us. (Scroll to bottom of the website home page, click on newsletter, input your details)
*ParentPay account for pupils who were with us remain active from last year. New families will imminently receive activation letters: please activate your ParentPay account immediately to make school meal payment and to prepare for clubs.
*If you use social media please follow us on Facebook and Twitter where we share good news stories and also offer useful reminders.
*All children have a homelink book. Children will bring messages and reminders home for you in these books: please encourage them to use them. You can also record messages for the class teacher in this book (just remind your child to show them!)
*Teachers are on the playground in the morning and evening. In the morning please be mindful they need to get their classes settled so this is really only a time for quick, essential messages. In the afternoon they may have more time if you need to discuss anything with them.
*Please do contact the office if you would like a call with your child’s class teacher and they will pass this message onto them. You can of course also email teachers (please keep in mind teachers will not reply in the evening; we need to support them to have a work life balance).
Thank you for your support.
We have had a wonderful three days welcoming the children into school; they have been super!
We are especially proud of children who are new to NJS: predominantly in Year 3 but also those who have joined us in other year groups. You have all been a delight.
We are looking forward to new adventures in 23-24!
Telford and Wrekin Highways took the decision to remove the barrier from outside school and replace it with the pencil bollards over the Summer.
I am aware this morning that some children stepped off the pavement onto the road to allow pedestrians to pass more easily on the pavement.
This clearly presents a risk.
Please can we all work together to ensure that no one has to step off the pavement onto the road. Please talk to your children about the importance of remaining on the pavement (as I have done in assembly today) and be vigilant for keeping each other safe.
Mrs Moody
I have received a complaint from a resident on St Nicholas’ Park that parents/carers were parking on the road this morning. There is now a no parking enforcement on this road from 8am to 5pm. The resident has images of cars parked this morning and can send them to traffic enforcement.
For the safety of our children can we please ask that all parents and carers respect road markings around our school. There should be no parking on double yellow lines and no stopping on the yellow zig zags.
Telford and Wrekin Highways amended road markings on Avenue Road and St Nicholas’ Park over the summer so please do take notice of these. They also removed the previous barrier and replaced it with new bollards.
There is now a no parking restriction on St Nicholas’ Park between 8am and 5pm which I understand to be enforceable. Residents are very likely to report parking in this area between these times, please be aware of this.
We promote walking/scooting/cycling to school as ideal where possible. This is great for the physical health of our children and eases congestion and reduces pollution.
We do understand some families live too far away to walk and in this case we ask that parents/carers use local car parks (Specsavers, Shuker Field, B&M etc.) and walk from there.
We thank you for your support for the safety of our children.
