We had so much fun this afternoon Computing. We created Vector drawings using shapes and then editing them. The children really enjoyed it and learnt some new skills that we can continue in this unit.

Board Games Club
We had a great first session of Board Games club today at lunch. If any Y4 children would like to come and join us, they are more than welcome to as there is some spare spaces. Please can they come and visit me and I will explain how it all works to them.
5M Science
Today in Science, we investigated Gravity using different balls and flour. It was organised chaos but great fun and we all learnt so much!
5M Work!
These first couple of weeks we have had a big focus on PSHE and settling into Y5 and the work expectations that come with UKS2. We have discussed goals, rules and rights that all children should have. The children have created their own games and then tested them out, spoke about the dreams and how to achieve them and finally, inspected the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The children are currently working on posters to promote their own Human Rights before presenting them tomorrow.
Y5 Homework
All Y5 children have been handed their homework and homework books today. Please could they be handed in each week by Friday so homework can be marked and new homework given out.
Thanks for your support,
The Y5 Team

Sports Ambassadors for 5M! Fantastic Maths work! Hard at work in Geography! Our 4 Librarians!
5M First Week
We have a great first two days in 5M. The children have all settled excellently and have got back into the routine of school very quickly.
So far, we have focused on our British Values. We have looked at Individual Liberty and the rights we have as humans. We also looked at Democracy when the children voted for our School Councillors for 5M. Congratulations to Fayed and Eva on representing our class!
Today, we have looked at Tolerance and Mutual Respect, identifying our differences and being proud of them and proud of each other. We also looked at the countries of Europe in Geography and the children impressed me with their fantastic mapping skills.
I also had the pleasure in announcing that Macie, Scarlett, Leon and Willow were chosen to be Librarians for Year 5, I know the 4 of them will do an excellent job.
Pictures will follow tomorrow of our first week. If you need to contact me, my email is

Y5 Welcome!
Mrs Jukes, Mr Parker and myself are all looking forward to welcoming your children back to school on Wednesday morning. We hope you have enjoyed a peaceful and enjoyable summer break.
On Wednesday morning, please could the children return to school with their water bottle, pencil case and P.E. kit. As it due to be hot for the rest of the week, please could children arrive in school with a sun hat and sun cream if necessary please.
Children can also bring a reading book of their choice with them if they wish.
This week in class, we will focus on the role of British Values in class. This will be democracy in action when voting for School Council representatives and Worship Leaders and the Rule of Law when looking at behaviour expectations for the year.
Alongside this, we will of course be hitting the ground running with Maths, English and Reading in all 3 classes too.
We hope you and the children enjoy your final couple days of the holiday.
Mrs Jukes, Mr Parker and Mr Marsh
