Year 4 Rainforest Day Reminder – Tomorrow!!

Dear Parents and Carers

On Tuesday 20th February 2024, we are inviting Year 4 to take part in ‘Rainforest Day’ in school. This forms part of our Geography and Art curriculums and we are very excited and pleased to announce that this will be run by Dave and Sue Shaw, also known as ‘The Rainforest Couple.’ Dave and Sue are specialists in Primary School Rainforest workshops due to their lived experiences living in Costa Rica, Madagascar and Borneo to name a few places. Since returning to the UK with their daughters, Dave and Sue bring the magic of the rainforest into school with them and create a memorable day.

There will be some live rainforest creepy-crawlies coming along with them too to further add to the experience. This will be a chance for the children to see and hold in person some of the creatures that thrive in the rainforest. Children may be given the chance to hold these creatures if they wish. Please be reassured however, that no child will be asked to hold any insect if they do not wish to.

To enable this visit in school to go ahead, we will require a voluntary contribution of £6.00 and if there are not enough funds raised, then sadly the experience will not go ahead.

All permissions and payments have been made available via your ParentPay account.

As the Rainforest is known for its bright and vibrant colours, we are asking the children to dress up in bright clothing for the day, or as if they were from the Rainforest!

Thank you for your continuing support.

4N at Beech’s Base

Some lovely photos of 4N’s most recent visit to Beech’s Base.

Thankyou to Miss Lockwood and Miss Smith for providing such a fun and engaging session 🙂

Year 4 TTRS Battle Results

A huge well done to 4N who remain victorious in our Year 4 TTRS battles!

Well done and thankyou to all the children who played.

The most valuable children in each class will receive certificates today 🙂

Yr 4 Science Request

For our Science investigation next week, every child will need a flat plastic lid – larger enough to hold a bar magnet.
4N and 4M will need these on Monday and 4OP will need these on Wednesday .
Kindest regards and thank you for your support
Mrs Jones.

Clear Plastic Bottles

As part of our ongoing Science curriculum, Mrs Jones requires children to bring in a clear plastic bottle for their Science lesson with her next week. The bottle can be of any size you have ready for recycling – all we ask is that they are clean!

Many thanks

Team Year 4

4N Beech’s Base Reminder

A reminder for parents/carers of children in 4N.

Tomorrow, we will be spending the whole afternoon outside at Beech’s Base.

  • Your child can attend school in their own clothes.
  • Please ensure that clothing is nice and warm but try and choose older clothing (or things that you don’t mind them getting wet/muddy/both!)
  • Please can children wear clean shoes/trainers for in school and have their wellies/boots with them to wear to and from Beech’s Base.
  • Gloves and a hat would be advisable as it is forecast to be quite windy tomorrow!
  •  If you have toilet roll/kitchen roll tubes – please send them in 🙂
