Pre-Learning Task… After Christmas our new topic will be The Tudors – in particular, crime and punishment.

Over the holidays we would like you to research and present information about the Tudors. How you present your information is up to you but no PowerPoints please.

Encourage your child to carry on reading and record in reading diaries, including adult signatures to confirm reading at home.

Y6 homework

There is no homework this week other than reading.

Please encourage your child to read and record comments in their reading record. Children need to have home reading signed by an adult to confirm that they are reading at home.

Homework due 11th December

Read at least 3 times (per week) and ask an adult to sign your reading diary to confirm.

Complete the times table grid over the few evenings.

Make an information poster on fraction calculations. The target audience is a new child to Y6. Give key instructions and use images to support understanding.

Spellings due 4th December

Due to the changes in the Literacy curriculum children in Year 6 are expected to be secure with all KS2 spellings.

There will be no choice of spellings, in terms of degree of difficulty. All children, of all abilities, need to learn the following for next term:

especially frequently
guarantee hindrance
