As you will all be aware Year 6 children across England have been taking the Statutory assessments this week. The Department of Education ask a lot of our 10 and 11 year old children in managing a week of assessment tests. As a school our thoughts are to rise to this challenge but to prioritise the wellbeing of our pupils at all times. Unfortunately these tests won’t recognise the fantastic friends, amazing artists, marvellous musicians or successful sportsmen amongst our children; but as a school we firmly recognise these talents.
Our school community should be very proud of ALL of our Year 6 pupils: they have been excellent this week. They have been resilient, positive and motivated young people who at all times have tried their very best. This is all we can ask and we are so proud of them all.
The NJS team hope they have enjoyed the week. We hope breakfast club, magic sweets, biscuits, extra play and PE have made the challenges of the week manageable. I would like to thank all of the NJS staff team for the support they have given our Year 6 children, whether it be this week or during their junior school journey, they have all made a positive difference to our children.
Thank you to parents and carers who have supported NJS, by working together we give our children excellent opportunities.
Most of all thank you to our Year 6 children for making all of our hard work worthwhile: seeing your resilience, positivity and support for each other in action makes us very proud.
Mrs M
