Avenue Road and St Nicholas’ Park

This morning I have received complaints from residents regarding parents parking inappropriately on Avenue Road and St Nicholas’ Park at drop off and collection times for NJS.

Please can I remind families that if you do need to drive to school we ask you use local car parks such as Shuker Field and walk from there.

Thank you for your support in showing respect for our neighbours and for keeping our roads safe.

Smart Watches

Please note that, although we encourage children to wear watches to school, please do
not allow your child to wear a ‘smart’ watch, or any watch like device that has the same
functionality as a camera or phone on the school site.
The functions of many of these devices mean that children can take photos at school and send messages.

The safety of all children in school is vitally important and so our decision to not allow Smart Watches in school is based on our ongoing Safeguarding procedures.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Safety Alert – Important message for all parents.

Dear Parent/Carer,

I wish to make you aware of an incident reported to us by a parent this morning. We have been notified that two of our children were walking home and passed a white Ford Kuga car parked on Avenue Road South. The boys were spoken to by the two unknown male occupants of the car. They encouraged the boys to step forward and suggested the boys get into the car. Very sensibly the boys stepped away and went home informing parents. The police have been informed.

Please continue to be vigilant and remind your child about the rules for keeping safe, and of course report any concerns to the police and to ourselves.
