Homework!

Please see the attached spellings for the next week.

Spellings Wk 11

For homework, the children will be completing a comprehension task. Each question is for a specific reading skill (something which we have looked at in depth in guided reading). The children are more than welcome to highlight any information they feel they need in the question or the text itself.

Homework is due in Monday 19th or Tuesday 20th November. The spelling test will be Friday 23rd of November.

Finally, we will be swimming on Tuesday again until the end of this term.

Have a lovely weekend!

Homework – Week 10!

Spellings Wk 10

This week the children have a variety of national curriculum spellings to learn. The spelling test will be next Friday (16th).

On top of this, the children have a multiplication activity. These are testing multiplication recall and the inverse using division. If your child is stuck, we would suggest using a multiplication grid to help with the tricky questions. You can find these online.

Homework will be due in Monday 12th or Tuesday 13th of November.

Well done to all the children for a fantastic week!

Half term homework!

When we return to school, it is national Peace week to celebrate the end of the First World War. Therefore, we are asking the children to research a local war hero… Wilfred Owen. They can decide what they would like to research and can present it in a poster or a fact file. The purpose of this will help support our Literacy as we explore two boys who grew up and went to war together. The research will help children recognise a real life perspective of WW1.

On top of this, the spellings are continuing to look into plurals. They will be tested on their spellings the first Friday back.

Even though it is half term, the children are still expected to read at least 3 times a week with an adult and record their reading in their diaries.

Homework is due in Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th of November.

Have a great week off!

Homework – Week 8

This week the children’s spellings are all plurals ending with an es.

For homework the children are focusing on adverbs. They have 5 sentences where they need to identify the adverb within. Then, they need to put the 5 adverbs into their own sentences (remembering full stops and capital letters).

The homework will be due in Monday 22nd or Tuesday 23rd of October.

Due to finishing school for half term on Thursday, the spelling test will be brought forward to Thursday 25th October.

Have a great weekend!

Homework – Week 7!

For homework this week, the children have addition pyramids to complete. They also need to read 3 times to an adult and practise their spellings.

Homework is due in Monday 15th or Tuesday 16th of October. The spelling test will be Friday 19th.

Homework – Week 5!

Spellings Wk 5

As well as the children’s spellings, they will be focusing on learning the 6 times tables.

We would like the children to do some research this week.

What are the Northern Lights? Where can they be seen? Why do they take place? You can present what you have found out however you like. (Homework book, poster, presented on a computer etc.)

We are going to give children 2 weeks to work on this project.

Homework is due Monday 8th or Tuesday 9th of October.

Next week the children will only be given spellings for the following week.

Homework – Week 4!

Please see the spellings attached for each group. The children will be tested next Friday (28.09.18).

Spellings Wk 4

Homework

Continue to read at least three times this week at home and record in in your reading diary. Learn your 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10x tables.

In your homework book, using 24 as your target number, show as many different ways you can reach this number using + – x and ÷. For example: 6 x 4 = 24. 45 – 21 = 24
