Message for Year 6 parents and carers…
I am very proud of our Year 6 cohort this week for their efforts in their SAT assessments. The children have shown exceptional resilience and hard work and have at all times tried their very best: well done to them all.
Thank you to families for supporting the children and NJS: we appreciate you working with us to ensure your children are prepared and feel comfortable during this week.
I can assure you the teaching and support staff at NJS have worked tirelessly to prepare the children for their end of Key Stage assessments and to ensure they feel as confident and comfortable as possible this week. I am incredibly grateful to them all for the support they give to NJS children.
Thank you to the catering team for early starts this week to prepare breakfast for the children! I hope this has been enjoyed by the children. We have been proud to offer breakfast club in the mornings and enjoyable activities such as Beech’s Base in the afternoons to prioritise the wellbeing of our children as always.
SATS are over but learning is not! I have reminded the children today that we still have lots to do! Key Stage 2 writing assessments are still to be completed and our broad curriculum continues to ensure the children are Secondary ready for September.
There is also lots to look forward to, we are passionate at NJS about marking the end of the children’s Junior School Journey. We have Alton Towers, London residential, Crucial Crew, Deer Park Photography Workshops, Sports Day, Galas and Leavers Day to come.
We have introduced the children today to our Secondary Transition behaviour reward system. This is explained below. We hope you will support NJS in this to support the children to prepare for Secondary expectations.

The children have been delighted to receive their Leavers Hoodies this morning! I would like to express my thanks to the PTA who have funded these hoodies, they work tirelessly to ensure we can fund these for our children. Children have been asked:
*Not to wear their hood up at any time.
*To look after their hoodie, it is their responsibility.
*Not to wear it when it is hot.. they will get too warm!
(PLEASE NOTE: the supplier has had an issue with printing and the names in the 25 are not correct. The supplier has apologised and will be replacing all of the hoodies for corrected ones within the next two weeks)
Year 6 can wear their hoodie to school in place of their green jumper/cardigan. Please do keep hold of a green jumper/cardigan as there may be the odd occasion they need one.
Thank you, as always for your ongoing support.
Mrs M
