Year 5 Science Afternoon at Adams’ Grammar School 30.12.16
Year 5 had a fantastic time yesterday at Adams’ Grammar School. Our classroom for the afternoon was a Biology laboratory and we had full access to all the exciting equipment and resources that link to our Autumn term topic of Properties and Changes of Materials. Here are some photos of 5H having a super time sieving and mixing solutions,a exploring with filtration, evaporation and distillation. The children really enjoyed themselves and represented NJS brilliantly – well done! Miss H x
Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics
On Tuesday 8th November, I took an excited Athletics team to Oakengates to take part in the Telford and Wrekin Sportshall Athletics competition. The children were fantastic and threw themselves into every event with great energy. The level of team spirit shown by every NJS pupil taking part was brilliant and they should be very proud of themselves.
Arthog Day 4 – Miss H’s Group
Group 2 have had another super day today. We scrambled and climbed up the Barmouth Slabs this morning and then enjoyed a picnic with hot squash and cake to warm us up at the top! We then did bouldering and traversing to refine our rock climbing skills. Throughout this, the children spotted for each other brilliantly and really supported each other when it was scary and tricky. Their team work couldn’t have been better! We then headed for ice creams on Fairbourne Beach, where we explored the rock pools and caves. We finished the day by completing our John Muir Award – we conserved the beach by litter picking! X
Arthog Day 3. Miss H’s Group – mountain walking!
We have had a brilliant day walking up Parred Y Cefn Hir! We did some walking and rock scrambling, explored some ancient forts, found some interesting plants and had some quiet reflection time on our own at the top looking at the very impressive views over the Barmouth Bay. And once again some fantastic team work and looking out for each other from Group 2 today – well done team! X
Arthog Day 2: Gorge Walking Miss H’s Group
Group 2 have had a super morning exploring the beach and climbing up a huge waterfall! Miss H and our group instructor were extremely impressed with the fantastic teamwork and support within our group. The children should be very proud of themselves! After warming up with some hot chocolate with our lunch, we are ready for an afternoon of canoeing! X
