Yr 6 Homework – Wk 2

Homework due by Wednesday 24th January.

  1. Complete information poster on The Tudors. This is our Spring term topic so we would like the children to present any information they can find out on The Tudor dynasty, which can be presented throughout the Yr 6 corridor.
  2. Complete spelling practice. These words are taken from the government statutory spellings words.

As ever, please encourage children to complete their homework as this is good preparation for the transition to secondary school.

Thank you.

Before School Reminder – Yr 6

Please can we ask that Yr 6 children do not regularly arrive at school before 08:30am.

Children are unsupervised before 08:45am and there have been a number of children arriving at school well before this time.

Following a number of incidents this week, the children have been reminded that they are not to stand on the driveway for their own safety as this is used by cars right up until 08:30am. The areas for standing are clearly indicated by cones and we ask that children remain within these areas at all times.

Thank you.

6J Beech’s Base Reminder

6J will be in Beech’s Base on Wednesday 10th January 2024.

Children are welcome to come to school in their forest clothes and bring a spare change with them if they wish. Alternatively, they can also attend in uniform and change into their forest clothes at lunch time.

This week they will be making their own trebuchets using natural materials as part of their work on The Tudors.

Please be advised, the field/forest has been affected by the recent weather, so children are told they must bring wellies with them as trainers would not be suitable.

Monday – Please bring PE kit
Tuesday – Swimming Day
Wednesday – 6J PE / Homework Due in
Thursday – 6B / 6K PE

6J Computing – Spreadsheets

6J have been working on functions and formulas in computing this afternoon. They were tasked with calculating totals and averages from a series of data. All pairs were able to do this and find out the information they needed using the sum and average formulas. Amazing effort 6J!
