September Arrangements

Please find attached the letter we issued a few weeks ago about our plans for September.

Please note:

*School arrival time: 8.45-8.55am

*School collection time: 3.15-3.25pm

*Year 3: Security Gate, Year 4: onto the main playground, Year 5: entrance opposite One Dental, Year 6: onto the main playground. Remember if you are dropping off or collecting multiple children you can use one gate.

*the Drop Box has been a huge success and will remain in place!

Leavers Day: Monday 19th July

Dear Year 6 parents and carers,

Please find below copies of the letters we sent a couple of weeks ago with details for Monday:

Sports day Track and Trace form

PLEASE CAN WE REMIND YOU:

*STRICTLY one person per child to ‘spectate’. This includes NO siblings.

*All adults will need to hand in a Track and Trace form on arrival. A paper copy was sent home and a further copy is attached for your attention.

*Areas will be allocated per class so please ensure you go to the area allocated to your child’s class.

*Please bring your own chair!

*Gates will open at 9.30am and we aim to finish around 11.30am; this includes a Leavers Service as well as Sports Day!

*Children will need to come to school in their PE kits.

On Monday lunchtime Year 6 have chosen the dinner menu (burgers, nuggets, fries, onion rings and ice cream!) and if they wish to have this menu the usual charge applies.

In the afternoon Year 6 will be able to get their t-shirts signed! Please bring a white polo shirt with them for signing and a suitable pen (from experience Sharpies work best!).

All Year 6 children are invited to a Leavers Party from 3.30-4.30pm. They do not need to bring anything for this and collection will be as usual through the black gates.

Newport Show: Potato Competition!

Each year the Newport Cluster schools enter a potato growing competition with Newport Show. The potatoes couldn’t be weighed at the show this year so the team brought a tractor to school to weigh our potatoes! We had grown 1.44kg of potatoes! We will find out the result at the end of the week in how this compares to the other schools!

Thank you to our Caretaker Jack for overseeing the potato growing and to our Year 5 team who helped to weigh! Thank you to Newport Show for the continued opportunities they bring NJS,

School Reports

Dear Parents/Carers,

End of year reports are coming home with the children this evening. There is a reply slip within the report that you are welcome to return to the class teacher if you have any comments or to request a conversation following the report.

6J reports will come home tomorrow evening due to their trip today.
