Year 3 will be visiting the Gurdwara tomorrow: please ensure permissions are on ParentPay for this visit.
‘The best Monday ever!’ Commented the staff and children after our visit from an RAF helicopter this morning! We’ve had a super day!
This visit followed on from a talk from an RAF pilot as part of our Raising Aspirations work earlier this year. Children today saw the helicopter land, had the opportunity to sit on the helicopter and ask questions, interviewed an air traffic control officer and had a tour of the outside of the helicopter with a pilot! The crew were amazing; they really engaged the children and the children were so excited to learn from them.
We are extremely grateful to the crew who visited us today, thank you for making memories for our NJS children.
Please find attached a letter giving information about a transition visit to Chetwynd Deer Park for Years 2 and 3.
Permission can be made on Parent Pay.
We have a number of children signed up to attend clubs but they are not attending. The office are spending a considerable time each evening checking the children have gone home safely.
Can we please ask that if your child won’t be attending a club that they have signed up for that you inform the office confirming whether it is for that one date or whether they are no longer able to attend.
We appreciate your support with this.
Our school lost property bin is stored next to the office. If your child has ever lost anything we are very happy for you to check in here.
It is currently overflowing with lost property. We have sorted through this afternoon and are in the process of returning the few named items.
Most items are not named.
Thursday and Friday at 3.15pm this week the lost property bin will be wheeled onto the main playground for parents and carers to claim any items.
After Friday we will distribute the remaining lost property between our pre loved uniform store and a local charity shop.
Please can we encourage you to check at home for any missing items and then parents/carers/children check the bin for these over the next 48 hours.
Thank you for your support.
At NJS we value working in partnership with parents and carers: we know that working together will enable our children to be happy and achieve.
Please can we ask parents and carers to remember the systems we have in place to communicate with our staff:
*If you need a staff member before 8.45am please request this through the school office: either by accessing the school office and making your request in person or telephoning school to see if you can speak to the relevant person over the telephone.
*Staff will be at the gates at 8.45am if there is a message you need to pass on. (please be mindful they do need to take the children in so this will be for shorter messages).
*You can use the Home School book to record notes and messages to your class teacher.
*You can email the class teacher.
*Teachers will dismiss the children at 3.15pm and will be available then should you need them.
Thank you for your support.
Mrs M
Poppi swims for Telford Aqua Swimming Club (TASC) and has up until last Saturday only swam in galas with TASC, Newport and Wellington inter-club-gala’s.
On Saturday she had her first swimming gala, she swam at Tamworth Snowdome in the Nuneaton and District Junior Swimming League in the 9 years and under 25 meters backstroke and came an amazing second place!
She also swam in the Girls 8 x 25 metre freestyle relay (2 girls from the 4 age groups 9 and Under, 10 and Under, 11 and under and 12 and under), she was on the second leg and went in on 4th place and brought Telford Aqua up to 1st position!
These are amazing achievements Poppi and we are very proud of you, well done from all at NJS.
