Our school family have thoroughly enjoyed Christmas Dinner this week!
Huge thanks to our catering team for a very enjoyable lunch.
NJS were delighted to host a presentation of thanks to Newport’s retiring Crossing Patrol Officer Barbara.
Barbara retires on the 16th December after 32 years of working on the Stafford Road crossing point. Telford and Wrekin have estimated she will have helped around a million children cross the road during her time as a patrol officer. Our NJS family are very grateful to Barbara for helping us cross the road safely in all weather!
Joining us for the assembly were Mr Lorenz and Mrs Skelton from Travel Telford, Councillor Lyn from Newport Town Council and of course Barbara herself.
Mrs Skelton also used this as a great opportunity to remind our children about the Green Cross Code for crossing the road safely which the whole school can do with actions!
Telford and Wrekin are looking to recruit a replacement Crossing Patrol Officer and we hope to hear more about this in the new year. In the meantime please be mindful that on our return in January there will not be an officer on Stafford Road.

All four cases are within Years 5 and 6.
